A Resolution deferring second reading of the following ordinance and scheduling a
special City Commission meeting for Thursday, September 28, 2017 for second
reading of said ordinance:
"An Ordinance amending the Land Development Code, Article V, Section
20-5.8, and Article VI, Section 20-6.1 relating to reapplications and
reconsiderations of applications."
WHEREAS, confinnation of the advertisement of the public hearing for second reading
of the proposed ordinance amending the Land Development Code, Article V, Section 20-5.8, and
Article VI, Section 20-6.1 has not been confinned; and
WHEREAS, if the advertisement actually ran on schedule for Sunday, September 10,
2017, Hurricane Inna impacted Miami-Dade County on that day and arguably no one would
have had the benefit of the advertisement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to change the date for second reading so that
it can be properly advertised and so that sufficient notice can be given to the pUblic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission is hereby deferring second reading of the following
ordinance and schedules a special City Commission meeting for Thursday, September 28,
2017 for second reading of said ordinance:
"An Ordinance amending the Land Development Code, Article V, Section 20-5.8,
and Article VI, Section 20-6.1 relating to reapplications and reconsiderations of
applications. "
Section 2. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any
reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
