Playmore Proposal Bid
January 8, 2015 City of South Miami RE: Playgrounds at 4 Sites To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for the opportunity to provide a proposal on this project. Playmore West, Inc., dba Playmore Recreational Products and Services, was established in February, 2000 in the State of Florida. Our main offices are in Fort Myers, with our local representative residing in the Tampa area. The entire Playmore team takes the task of designing and building playgrounds very seriously. The two owners of Playmore have over 40 years experience designing and building playgrounds. Playmore completes on average 150 playgrounds per year. We hold our own Florida Certified Building Contractors License (CBC1252224). We are also the Playworld Systems exclusive manufacturer’s representative in the State of Florida. Being a licensed contractor AND the manufacturer’s rep means we control everything from the design stage through a completed installation. You only have to deal with us for your project. We are responsible for everything. Playworld Systems will be the manufacturer of the equipment. They were established in 1971 and continue to be a family owned business. The quality, warranty and aesthetics of the equipment has no equal. The equipment meets all safety standards (IPEMA certified to ASTM standards) and is ADA accessible. Playworld Systems holds several quality certifications, including ISO 9001. They also hold several environmental certifications including ISO 14001 and they’re the ONLY playground manufacturer with that holds a stringent Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification. The equipment is 100% made in the USA in Lewisburg, PA. All of the products on this project, including the deck coatings, will be 100% PVC free. PVC releases dangerous carcinogens if burned or if it’s disposed improperly, making it potentially dangerous for communities. Playworld uses a Polyethylene based Eco Armour. Also, the epoxy primers, superdurable paints and compounded plastics used on this project were specially formulated with Florida’s intense climate in mind. The scope of work on this project is straightforward. We’ll work with the City to obtain permits, something we do often. Once permitting is in place, the equipment will be ordered. Manufacturing takes 20 days. We will prepare the sites, remove and dispose of the existing equipment. We’ll send the new equipment straight to the sites, meet the truck, unload and check the equipment, then begin installation immediately. After they’re installed, we’ll blow in the proper surfacing. We’ll make sure the sites are clean and ready for inspection. We’ll conduct a final walk- thru and sign off to ensure your satisfaction. I’m very pleased with the design we are offering. It’s fun and looks fantastic. The playgrounds are mostly nature themed. They fit in with the mood of the parks nicely. However, please feel free to choose any colors you desire. I’d like to go into detail on each component, as there are some intricate details present that don’t translate to the 3D. I’ll give just one example - the slides have cool creatures hiding underneath them, molded into the bottom, along with other items to discover. I’d be happy to meet in person and do a presentation highlighting these things. We look forward to working closely with you on this project. The Playworld Systems® Difference The Rust Defender Process Sustainability and Durability ssh1005119 • 6/2010 • Rust Defender • © 2010 Playworld Systems®, Inc. Rust Defender Developed after years of research, the Rust Defender Process is a complete system that helps to prevent the formation of rust on our products that feature steel and welds. The result of this rust prevention system is a product that is not only resistant to corrosion, but also prevents gloss and color fading over time, ensuring that it will look great for years to come. 1. Steel Tubing a. Cold-formed, high-frequency weld tubing is manufactured from ASTM A570, Grade-A steel for superior strength. 2. Inner Coating a. Zinc-rich organic coating prevents the formation of red rust on the inside of the tubing. 3. Lead-Free Zinc Galvanizing a. Zinc galvanizing keeps rust from creeping under the powder-coated surface should it become scratched or scuffed. 4. Conversion Coating a. This coating is applied to prevent the formation of oxidation (white rust). 5. Clear Organic Coating a. This additional barrier prevents corrosion and creates a uniform surface for the application of powder coating, providing a smooth and shiny surface. 6. Epoxy/Polyester Primer a. Weld areas and flat plates are coated with a specially formulated epoxy/polyester primer to encapsulate the weld area, deterring the formation of corrosion. This primer is identical to the primer that is used on heavy construction equipment. 7. Super-Durable Polyester Powder Coating a. Our powder coating is completely lead-free and has been tested for 3,000 hours of UV exposure to meet the demand of the harsh tropical sun. 8. Tumbled Edges a. All edges on flat sheet plates are rounded to provide a smooth, clean surface for the application of powder coating and to prevent edge rusting. These rounded edges, created by our 360° tumbling process, also remove the possibility of sharp edges that might lead to injury. 9. Aluminum Post Caps a. Our post caps seal the system, further preventing the formation of rust. Unlike steel (which rusts) and plastic (which breaks), our caps are made from durable aluminum. 10. Maintenance Kit a. It should be noted that routine maintenance is an additional and necessary part of the process. In order to prolong the lifespan of our products and keep them looking new, materials for maintenance are provided with each Challenger and Playmaker playsystem in order to address scratches, scuffs and vandalism. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
