There will be food and beverages and I am told there will even be Diet Dr Pepper. Farm Shares is working with the City again and will hold a food give away event at St Johns Church on SW 59 th PI from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday May 20. Public Works and Parks and Community Departments will assist. Our annexation report is in draft on your desk and we will finalize it on Friday should you have any questions or wish to discuss it tonight. Received an unsolicited P3 proposal, which we determined was sufficiently similar to the ballot question regarding the transition of the City Hall property, which was approved by 72 percent of the voters. Once we achieved agreement with the City Attorney on the language necessary to formally advertise the project we advertised it on Demand Star and we already have confirmation that 1,091 suppliers were notified of this opportunity. We will receive competitive responses on May First. We also received 5 competitive responses to the RFP for the sale of the City Hall property on March 31. Staff will begin the evaluation process immediately on the responses. Since the issue of the installation of a 12-inch water main fronting City Hall which was installed in 1990 has come up, we checked with WASA who has informed us that they didn't request the new water main nor do they have knowledge of FDOT requesting a size increase or a new water main, which is by all accounts much larger than necessary for current uses. Miami Dade League of Cities installation of Mayor Oliver Gilbert as President is Saturday May 13 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. RED ROAD STREETSCAPE PROJECT (SW 72 nd Street to SW 74th Street) has been THE CITY OF PLEASANT LIVING CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER MEMORANDUM funded by the BCC under the initiation and sponsorship of Commissioner Suarez and his staff especially J.C.Garrido who treated it like his own child. We have done an analysis of how to provide circulator services in the community. One method would be for the City to buy the vehicles and hire the drivers and do all of the maintenance, and the other path is to hire a company to own the vehicles, hire the drivers and perform all of the maintenance. Although there was a slight edge for the City ownership, since we do not know what the future is for increased costs for the City including pay rates, and since we can lock in the private vendor into a long term contact, it seems like the best prospect is to outsource this service. Many other City's in South Florida use this same provider very successfully.
