--Awnings-- South Mami- Hospital is requesting authorization to add an awning to cover a
designated smoking area. This is not visible from any public right-of-way and is located on the
north wall ♦ the parking garage adjacent to a service driveway between the hospital and the
parking garage, It is of the same color as the existing awnings at the Hospital. Approval of this
awning, which covers approximately 144 square feet, will be requested as a major change.

Mr. Bill Mackey
We checked the development order for the Hospital PUD and could not find a reference to this
subject as we had hoped. The helistop use would be strictly for emergencies. When the garage
was originally constructed in 1987, it was built with this possibility in mind. In fact, you may
recall that the garage is structured for one additional level of parking. Please let me know what is
necessary in order to obtain local approval for this application.
MAI, this represents my understandings from our recent meeting. I will look forward to hearing
An-
LTom you on this as soon as possible.

PrtiCulArly infuriating is the fact that they did hot dare
broach the subject with thuir own Doctor's Hospital in Co-

bumpkins, or (racially) worseo when compared to CG.
This is NOT a case of NIMBV. I will gladly comment favorably
on any deserving hospital expansione including r and
covered patio area. But the concept of a HELIPORT in this
area is preposterous in its face.
