ORDINANCE 820ORDTNANCE NO. 24 -74 -820 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MAAMI, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINACE NO. 3 -74 -799 BY PROVIDING RESTRICTIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS QUALIFYING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE UNDER CERTAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN GENERAL OR SPECIAL ELECTIONS. EE. Tm ORa TNED..;;Y T.__-E MIm'YO � AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:; Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3 -74 -799 of the City of South Miami, Florida, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1. No individual may qualify as a candidate for public office who serves as a member of any appointive Board or Authority, whether State, County, or Municipal, the term of which, or any part thereof, runs concurrently with the term of office for which he seeks to qualify, without resigning form such board or authority not less than ten days prior to the first day of qualifying for the office he intends to seek in a general election, or without resigning form such board or authority not less than the day before he qualifies for the office he intends to seek in a special election, whichever the case may be. Said resignation shall be effective not later than the time upon which he would assume office if elected to the office for which he seeks to qualify, the expiration date of the term of appointment which he presently holds, or the day at which his successor is appointed, whichever occurs earlier."
