AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,
FLORIDA, DESIGNATING TEN ADDITIONAL
PERSONS TO OPERATE VOTING MACHINES AND /OR
ELECTION BOOKS AND APPOINTING MARY McGOWAN
TO REPLACE HELEN BROOKE AS CLERK OF THE
ELECTION: PROVIDING FOR THIS ORDINANCE
TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY AS AN EMERGENCY'
MEASURE AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the following persons, to -wit:
Ruth McCracken, Anna Wolf,, Ruth Wike, Catherine Ware,
Marcella Barana, Mimi Rohde,, Ernest McCracken, 011ie
Wilkes, Ruth Cullinan and Juanita Henderson.
be, and they are hereby appointed as additional personnel for
the operation of voting machines and /or election books at the
regular municipal election to be held in the City of South Miami
on February 10, 1976.
Section 2. That Mary McGowan be and she is hereby
appointed to replace Helen Brooke as Clerk of the Election on
February 10, 1976.
Section 3. This ordinance is declared to be an
emergency ordinance adopted for the purpose of meeting a public
emergency affecting the life, safety health and property of
the residents of the City of South Miami, Florida and the
requirement of reading this ordinance at no less than two
meetings of the City Council is hereby 'dispensed with and this
ordinance shall take effect immediately at the time of its
passage.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2Ot-h day of January, 1976.
