Das Renn Treffen (lithe applicant"), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, has submitted a Special Event Application to hold its classic Porsche Car show on February 26,2017 on 72 nd Street (Sunset Drive) from South Dixie Highway to sih Avenue (Red Road). For the past 3 years, the applicant has held its annual Car Show in the City of South Miami. This reoccurring event showcases approximately 250 Porsche cars from around the nation. This event generates approximately 10,000 attendees who stimulate South Miami's economy through various purchases during the event from local merchants and restaurants. The applicant has submitted the necessary notification/petition approval form signed by businesses that will be affected by the requested street closure. Upon approval of this event the applicant must provide the City with the required Certificate of Liability Insurance that complies with the City's standard insurance requirements, including naming the City of South Miami as an additional insured prior to the event. The applicant has paid the City $660, which includes $60 application fee, $100 administrative fee and $500 refundable security deposit. WHEREAS, Das Renn Treffen, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, has submitted a Special Event Application to hold its classic car show event in downtown South Miami; and WHEREAS, the applicant has paid the City $660, which includes $60 application fee, $100 administrative fee and $500 refundable security deposit; and WHEREAS, the applicant will be responsible for all services and fees rendered by Police ($2,920), Parking Meter fees ($2,400), Street Closure and MOT fee ($518) and Public Works ($1,323.52), totaling $7,161.52; and WHEREAS, the applicant has completed the Special Event Application and has submitted the necessary notification/petition approval form signed by businesses that will be affected by the requested street closure. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to permit Das Renn Treffen to hold its 3rd annual Porsche Car Show on Sunday, February 26, 2017, on nnd Street (Sunset Drive) from South Dixie Highway to 5ih Avenue (Red Road). Section 2. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution. We a 403c non-for-profit organization dedicated towards fundraising and bringing attractions that will better our City of South Miami. We are asking the city to permit the first all Porsche Car Show in Febuary 26, 2017. This show will bring thousand of professionals to the area to enjoy the beauty of the evolution Porsche from vintage to new. We will need street closures, police, meters and cleaning services. We would also like to put up street ban~ers and pole banners.
