Res No 238-16-14793RESOLUTION NO.238-16-14793 A Resolution authorizing the CityManager to purchase active shooter response rifles for the Special Weapons &Tactics Team (SWAT)from Arms Unlimited. WHEREAS,the police department needs tactical weapons foritsSpecial Weapons & TacticsTeam (SWAT)which are adapted and equipped based on their specific needs and, WHEREAS,the Special Weapons &TacticsTeam needs tactical rifles to properly operate inhighrisk operations;and, WHEREAS,this purchase will be made from Arm's Unlimited based on three quotes received from different vendors;and, WHEREAS,Arm's unlimited has conformed to City of South Miami Resolution 58-14- 14152,wherein the vendor has provided a letter stating they are in compliance with all state and federal laws and also stated they onlysell to law enforcement personnel and/or agencies; and, WHEREAS,the Mayor andCity Commission authorize the City Manager to purchase the described tactical equipment inan amount notto exceed approximately $19,000 utilizing budgeted funds from the Federal Forfeiture Supplies Account.
