A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept donation
contributions in the amount of $8,500 for the 2016 Fourth of July
Celebration event.
The Special Events Division received four (4) donations in the amount of
$8,500 from Baptist Health South Florida ($4,000), First National Bank of
South Miami ($1,000), Williamson Cadillac ($500), and LAZ parking
($3,000).
These donations will be used toward the purchase of decorations,
entertainment, fireworks and other event-related expenditures
associated with the 2016 Fourth of July Celebration event.

6 WHEREAS, the Special Events Division received four (4) donations in the amount of $8,500

13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
14 COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:

16 Section I. The City Manager is authorized to accept donation contributions in the amount of
17 $8,500 for the 2016 Fourth of July celebration event, increasing the expenditure line item 001-2000-572-
18 4820, Promotional Activities/Special Events, with a current balance of $13,898, by $8,500.

20 Section 2. Severability. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any
21 reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect
22 the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
23 Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption
24 by vote of the City Commission.
