Res No 201-16-14756RESOLUTION NO.201-16-14756 A Resolution acknowledging Commissioner Josh Liebman's (Group Seat II) appointment of Maximo Monterrey as the representative of Group Seat n,to serve on the Budget and Finance Committee fora term ending September 30, 2017. WHEREAS,theMayorandCommissionrecognizethe important contributionsmadeby thosewhoserveonthevariouscity boards and committees,andwishtoappointafull complement to each of the active boards and committees;and WHEREAS,the Section 2-26.8(c)has been amended so that the budget and finance committee terms begins onthedate of the firstCity Commission meeting of thenewfiscalyear,with appointments lasting one(1)yearor until replaced;and WHEREAS,the budget andfinance committee shouldbemade explicitly exempt from Section 2-22 of the Code of Ordinances,limiting terms totwo(2)years sothat someone whohas climbedthelearning curve of the budget processandwhohas proven tobea responsible member may have a longer tenure;and WHEREAS,the city manager or designee mayserveasanexofficio member of the committee;and WHEREAS,Commissioner Liebman now desires to appoint Maximo Monterrey toserveon the Budget and Finance Committee fortheFY 2016-2017 ashis representative. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,THAT: Section 1.The City Commission hereby acknowledges Commissioner Liebman's rightto appoint MaximoMonterreytoserveon Budget and Finance CommitteefortheFY 2016- 2017,ashis representative of Group Seat II.
