WHEREAS,due to high foot traffic to and from the east park entrance and children playground area,City staff desires to installa 200'x6'concrete sidewalk at Dante FascellPark;and WHEREAS,the concrete sidewalk will extend from the playground gate north to the jogging/walking trail;and WHEREAS,competitive proposals were sought from at least three (3)different sources of supply;RP Utility&ExcavationCorp.was the lowest ($9,150)and most responsive vendor;and WHEREAS,the City desires to provide a contingency of $850 over the proposal amount for unknown factors that may arise during the work;and WHEREAS,the total expenditure shall not to exceed $10,000. NOW,THEREFORE,BEIT RESOLVED BYTHE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OFTHECITYOF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA THAT: Section 1:TheCity Manager is authorized to expend an amount not to exceed $9,150 to RP Utility&ExcavationCorp.fora new sidewalk project atDanteFascellPark.TheCity Manager isalso authorized to expend an additional $850 over the proposal amount of $9,150 for unknown factors. Section 2:The total expenditure shallbe charged to the CitywideParks Improvement,account number 301-2000-572-6450,whichhasa balance of $88,320 before this request was made. Section 3:Ifany section clause,sentence,or phrase of this resolution isforany reason held invalidor unconstitutional bya court of competent jurisdiction,the holdingshall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
