Res No 105-16-14660RESOLUTION NO.105-16-14660 A Resolution re-appointing Donald Jackson to serve on the South Miami Community Redevelopment Agency fora two-year term ending June 6,2018. WHEREAS,theMayorand Commission recognizethe important contributions madeby thosewhoserveonthe various Cityboardsand committees andwishto appoint afull complement to each of the active boards and committees;and WHEREAS,theCity Commission desires to re-appoint Donald Jackson toserveonthe South Miami Community Redevelopment Agency Board.This appointment(s)shall expire June 6, 2018 or until a successor is duly appointed and qualified. WHEREAS,commencing with appointments madeafter January 1,2009,Sec.2-22 "Term Limits"of theCode of Ordinances provides that,appointees are limited totwo(2)consecutive two- year terms of membership ona specific commission,board,or committee.After serving a maximum of two(2)consecutive yearterms,anappointeeshallnotbe reappointed tothesame commission, boardor committee unlessatleastoneyearhaselapsed between thetermlimited position andthe effective date of commencement of the proposed appointment fora new term. WHEREAS,Sec.2-22 "Term Limits"of the Code of Ordinances,as amended by Ordinance No.06-14-2184,dated April15,2014,provides that the appointer,orhisorher successor inoffice,may extend thetermlimits of hisorher appointment with theadviceand consent of a majority of the City Commission;and WHEREAS,Mr.Jackson was originally appointed in May 5,2014;and WHEREAS,pursuant toSec.2-22 "Term Limits"of theCode of Ordinances,Mr.Jackson's second two-year term would expire June 6,2018. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,THAT: Section 1.TheCityCommissionherebyappointsDonaldJacksontoserveontheSouth Miami Community Development Agency Board.
