A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept donations for learn-
to-swim classes at Murray Park Aquatic Center in the amount of $1,520.
The City's Parks and Recreation Department received donations from
Louis Strauss for $100, Pamela Lahiff for $200, Marilyn Magill for $100,
Pepe & Nemire LLC for $120 and Court Norris for $1,000.
These donations will be used towards subsidizing swim lessons (50%) for
youth residents 18 years of age and under. The standard cost for group
swim lessons is $60 dollars for 10 classes (1 session). The donations
enable a discount of 50% off a full-price swim session.
In order to qualify for a discount the applicant must submit a complete
application, verification of low income status, proof of residency, and
participants must have no outstanding balance for current or prior
recreation programs. Such discounts will be offered on a first come, first
serve basis.

6 WHEREAS, the City's Parks and Recreation Department received donations from Louis Strauss

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
22 SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:

24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept a donation contribution from Louis Strauss
25 for $100, Pamela Lahiff for $200, Marilyn Magill for $100, Pepe & Nemire LLC for $120 and Court Norris
26 for $1,000 in the combined amount of $1,520 to be used towards swim classes at Murray Park Aquatic
27 Center in accordance with the conditions set forth in the recitals above; increasing the revenue line item
28 001-0000-347-2635, Rec Fees/Murray Park Aquatic Center, with a current revenue balance of $5,009. 29
30 Section 2. Severability. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any
31 reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect
32 the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
33 Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by
34 vote ofthe City Commission.
