###
In a state surrounded by water, in a city near the ocean, in a community with ponds,
pools and canals, swimming is almost as important a life skill as walking, riding a bike,
driving a car, typing, cooking, reading, writing and basic arithmetic. It is our hope that
every child in our community will know how to swim.
Contributions are being sought to subsidize swimming lessons for the children and
residents of South Miami.
To-date, Ja1Id. J..,z...,.......,..... J~ has been pledged $2000. This will subsidize
10 lessons for about 45 students. Ten lessons is two weeks' worth of instruction. Most
people for whom swimming is a new activity will need several series of lessons in order
to become minimally competent.
The Murray Park Aquatic Center is a non-profit entity.
Contributions are tax-deductible. Checks should be made
payable to: City of South Miami
