AN ORDINANCE OFTHE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,
CONFIRMING,RATIFYING AND APPROVINGALEASE
AGREEMENT WITH S.U.R.F.,A/K/A SOCIAL UNDERSTANDING
RE-ESTABLISHMENT FUNCTIONS,A NON-PROFIT YOUTH
SERVICE AGENCY,FOR TWO (2)OFFICES IN THE SOCIAL
SERVICE BUILDING LOCATED AT6121 SOUTHWEST 68TH
STREET,SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1)
YEAR FOR THE SUMOF $1,500.00,AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO SAID LEASE AGREEMENT,
COPYOF WHICH.IS ATTACHEDTOTHISORDINANCE.
BEIT ORDAINED BYTHE MAYOR ANDTHECITY COMMISSION OFTHE
CITYOFSOUTHMIAMI,FLORIDA:
Section 1.That the Lease Agreement with S.U.R.F.,a/k/a
Social Understanding Re-Establishment Functions,a Non-Profit Youth Service
Agency,for two (2)offices in the Social Service Building located at
6121 Southwest 68th Street.South Miami,Florida,be,and the same is
confirmed,ratified and approved.
Section 2.That the City Manager be,and he is hereby
authorized to enter into said Lease Agreement for a period of one (1)year
for the sum'of $1,500.00,copy of which Lease Agreement is attached hereto
andmadeapart hereof.

LEASE AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT,made this <£&~day oI^J^\ju^AuU^,
1980,between the CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,a municipal corporation,
party of the first part,and S.U.R.F.,a/k/a SOCIAL UNDERSTANDING
RE-ESTABLISHMENT FUNCTIONS,a Non-Profit Youth Service Agency,
party of the second part.
WITNESSETH:
That the party of the first part has demised and
leased tothe party ofthe second part the premises situated
intheCityofSouthMiami,County ofDade,StateofFlorida,
known and described as follows:
Those certain 2front offices adjoining
the After-School House facing Southwest
6 8th Street on the West side of the
building located at 6121 Southwest 68th
Street,South Miami,Florida.
Tohaveandtoholdthesameuntothe party ofthe
second part from the20thdayof February,1980,unto the19th
dayofFebruary,1981,andthepartyofthesecond part,in
considerationofsaid demise,doescovenantandagreewiththe
party of the first part as follows:
FIRST:Topaytothepartyofthe first partat
the office of City Finance Director as rent for said leased
premises for said term,the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred
($1,500.00)Dollars,payable in advance in equal monthly
installments of $125.00 upon the 20th day of each and every
month during the term hereof.
SECOND:That it has examined and knows the condition
ofsaid premises;andhas received thesameingoodorderand
repair,and upon the termination of this lease,will yield up
saidpremisestosaidpartyofthefirstpartingood condition
and repair (loss by fire and ordinary wear excepted).
THIRD:That it will not sublet said premises,
nor any part thereof,nor assign this lease without the
written consent ofthe party of the first part first had.
FOURTH:Itis agreed that this lease may be canceled
by either party atanytimebyfifteen (15)days1notice in
writing with or without cause.,
FIFTH:Liability.Thepartyofthe secondpart
shall save thepartyofthefirstpartharmlessfromany loss,
cost or damage that may arise out of or in connection with this
lease,ortheuseofthe demised premises bythepartyofthe
second part,oritsagents,oremployees,orpatrons,or
anyotherpersonusingsaid premises;andthepartyofthe
second part agrees to deliver to the party ofthe first part
upontheexecutionofthisleasetwoexecutedcopiesofa
continuing public liability and property damage insurance policy,
satisfactory to the party of the first part,indemnifying and
holding thepartyofthe first part harmless against any and
all claims,inthe amount ofOne Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00)
Dollars,for injury toanyone person,and Three Hundred Thousand
($300,000.00)Dollarsinanyone claim,togetherwithOne
Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00)Dollars for property damage,and
shallkeepthesameinforceduringthetermofthis lease.
SIXTH:All the parties to this lease agree that
the covenants and agreements herein contained shall be binding
upon,apply and inure to their respective heirs,executors,
administrators andassigns.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the parties hereto have set their
handsandsealsthedayandyearfirstabovewritten.
