A Resolution consenting to the appointment of a new Director of the Planning and 3
Zoning Department for the City of South Miami, Florida. 4

WHEREAS, the City Manager, has conducted a search for a new Director for the Planning 6
and Zoning Department; and 7

WHEREAS, the City Manager desires to appoint _______________________ as the Director 9
of the Planning and Zoning Department based on her education, training and experience and her 10
ability to perform the duties of the Director; and 11

WHEREAS, pursuant to Article III, Section 5, subsection A. provides that the City Manager 13
may not appoint any department Director without first obtaining the consent of a majority of the 14
members of City Commission at a duly noticed City Commission meeting; and 15
16
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to approve the appointment of 17
____________________ as the Director of the Planning and Zoning Department for the City of 18
South Miami. 19

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY 21

Section 1. The Mayor and City Commission hereby consent to the City Manager’s 24
