Res No 065-16-14620RESOLUTION NO.065-16-14620 A Resolution consenting to the appointment of a new Director of the Planning and Zoning Department for the City of South Miami,Florida. WHEREAS,the City Manager,has conducted a search fora new Director for the Planning and Zoning Department;and WHEREAS,the CityManagerdesiresto appoint Jane K.Tompkins as the Director of the Planning and Zoning Department based on her education,training and experience and her ability to perform the duties of the Director;and WHEREAS,pursuant to Article III,Section 5,subsection A.provides that the City Manager may not appoint any department Director without first obtaining the consent ofa majority of the members ofCity Commission at aduly noticed City Commission meeting;and WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Commission desire to approve the appointment of Jane Tompkins as the Directorof the PlanningandZoning Department for the City of South Miami. NOW,THEREFORE,BEIT RESOLVED BYTHE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OFTHECITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1.The Mayor and City Commission hereby consent to the City Manager's appointment of Jane K.Tompkins astheDirectorof the PlanningandZoning Department for the City of South Miami.
