Since the installation was considered an emergency,three bids were properly acquired from three licensed contractors.The lowest bid was accepted from Noval Air Conditioning and the equipment was installed on March 18,1998.It should be noted that the equipment (compressor/condenser)that was replaced was approximately fifteen years old,and it would not have been cost effective to repair it. This expenditure will be charged to the "Maintenance and Repair of Grounds and Structures"(Account No.1710-519-4670),and is not to exceed $1,250.00 to install. It is recommended that the City Commission approve the proposed expenditure.
