Res No 039-16-14594RESOLUTION NO.: _0_3_9_-_1_6_-1_4_5_9_4 ___ _ A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to permit Team FootWorks Educational and Fitness Corporation, a non-profit organization, to hold a 5K Run/Walk Military Tribute on Sunday, March 13, 2016, beginning at 76th Terrace and 58th Avenue, ending at 57th Court and 73rd Street and to waive the cost of parking meters. WHEREAS, Team FootWorks has submitted a Special Event Application to hold a 5K Run/Walk Military Tribute on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in downtown South Miami and surrounding streets; and WHEREAS, the applicant has paid the City $660, which includes $500 refundable security deposit, $100 administrative fee and $60 application fee; and WHEREAS, the applicant is responsible to pay the City for Police ($2,050), Public Works ($554.48), Street Closure and MOT ($1,609) and Parking Meters ($1,450) totaling $5,663.48; and WHEREAS, the applicant is requesting a waiver for the cost of 58 parking meters in the amount of $1,450; and WHEREAS, if the City Commission waives the parking meter fee, the applicant would be responsible to pay the remaining services rendered totaling $4,213.48; and WHEREAS, the applicant has completed the special event application and has submitted the necessary notification/petition form signed by businesses that will be affected by the requested street closure. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to permit Team FootWorks to host a 5K Run/Walk Military Tribute, in the downtown South Miami area and surrounding streets. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to waive the cost of 58 parking meters in the amount of $1,450. Section 3. Effective Date. Permits for Special Events must be on event site at all times. 4. No Street shall be closed without authorization from the City of South Miami Public Worles Department and Police Department. . . . 5. Traffic shall be maintained in accordance with Florida Department ofTranspormtion (FOOT), Miami-Dade County standards and any additional requirements by the City of South Miami PUblic Works Department and Police Department. :. 6. Event areas shall be restored to equal or better condition than they were before.the event started. 7. If all restoration work is not perfonned within 30 days of work completion, the CitY of South Miami Public Works Department may restore. the event area and charge the applicant for the cost of restoration plus a minimum of 15% for administrative fee and any additional incidental fees. 8. Applicant must pay all fees prior tO,the start of their event{s). 9. Applicahts that receive approval for their event more than thirty (30) days in advance shall notify the City of South Miami Special EventlMarketing Coordinator at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to start oftheir event. 10.
