AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,
FLORIDA,CONFIRMING,RATIFYING AND APPROVING
A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF A LEASE AGREEMENT
WITH S.U.R.F.,A/K/A SOCIAL UNDERSTANDING
RE-ESTABLISHMENT FUNCTIONS,A NON-PROFIT
YOUTH SERVICE AGENCY,FOR TWO (2)OFFICES IN
THE SOCIAL SERVICE BUILDING LOCATED AT 6121
SOUTHWEST 68THSTREET,SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,
FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1)YEAR FOR THE SUM OF
$1,500.00,AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTOSAIDLEASE EXTENSION AGREEMENT,
COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THIS ORDINANCE.
BEIT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA;
Section 1.That a one-year extension ofthat
certain Lease Agreement with S.U.R.F.,a/k/a Social Understanding
Re-Establishment Functions,a Non-Profit Youth Service Agency,
for two (2)offices in the Social Service Building located at
6121 Southwest 68th Street,South Miami,Florida,be,and the
sameis confirmed,ratifiedand approved.
Section 2.That the City Manager be,and is hereby
authorized to enter into said Lease Agreement Extension for a period
of one (1)year beginning February 20,1981,for the sum of $1,500,00,
copy of which Lease Agreement Extension is attached hereto and made
a part thereof.

1981,betweentheCITYOFSOUTHMIAMI,amunicipal corporation,
partyofthefirst part,andS.U.R.F.,a/k/aSOCIALUNDER
STANDING RE-ESTABLISHMENT FUNCTIONS,a Non-Profit Youth Service
Agency,party of the second part.
WITNESSETH:
That the party ofthe first part has demised and leased
to the party of the second part the premises situated inthe
City of South Miami,County ofDade,State of Florida,known
and described as follows:
Those certain 2 front offices adjoining
the After School House facing Southwest
68th Street on the West side of the
building located at 6121 Southwest 6 8th
Street,South Miami,Florida.
To have and to hold the same unto the party of the second
part from the 20th day of February,1981,unto the 19th day of
February,1982,and the party of the second part,in consider
ation of said demise,does covenant and agree with the party
of the first part as follows:
FIRST:To pay to the party of the first part at the offices
of City Finance Director asrentfor said leased premises for
said term,the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00)
Dollars,payable in advance in equal monthly installments of
$125.00 uponthe20thdayofeachandeverymonthduringthe
term thereof.
SECOND:That it has examined and knows the condition of
said premises;and has received the same in good order and
repair,anduponthe termination ofthislease,willyieldup
saidpremisestosaidpartyofthefirstpartingoodcondition
and repair (lossbyfireand ordinary wear excepted).

THIRD:That it will not sublet said premises nor any
part thereof,nor assign this lease without the written
consent ofthepartyofthe first part firsthad.
FOURTH:Itis agreed thatthis lease may be cancelled
by either party atanytimeby fifteen (15)days'notice in
writing with or without cause.
FIFTH:Liability.The party of the second part shall
save the party of the first part harmless from any loss,cost
or damage that may arise out of or in connection with this
lease,ortheuseofthe demisedpremises bythe party of
the second part,orits agents,or employees,or patrons,
or any other person using said premises;andthe party ofthe
seondpartagreestodeliverto the partyofthefirstpart
upontheexecutionofthisleasetwoexecutedcopiesofa
continuingpublicliabilityandpropertydamageinsurance
policy satisfactory to the party of the first part,indemnify
ingandholdingthepartyofthefirstpartharmlessagainst
any andall claims,in the amount of One Hundred Thousand
($100,000.00)Dollars,forinjurytoanyoneperson,and
ThreeHundredThousand ($300,000.00)Dollars in anyone claim,
together with One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00)Dollars for
property damage,andshallkeepthesameinforceduringtheterm
of this lease.
SIXTH.:Allthe parties to this lease agree that the covenants
andagreementshereincontainedshallbebinding upon,apply and
inure to their respective heirs,executors,administrators and
assigns.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the parties hereto have set their hands
and seals the day and year first above written.
