SEQUENCE OF OPERATION: 1. FIRE ALARM INITIATING DEVICES: A.- MANUAL FIRE ALARM PULL STATIONS ACTIVATION OF ANY FIRE ALARM PULL STATION SHALL CAUSE THE FOLLOWING ACTION AND INDICATIONS: - ACTIVATE THE AUDIBLE AND VISUAL SIGNAL THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY. - ACTIVATE THE ALARM LIGHT AND A DISTINCTIVE SOUND AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - INDICATE THE LOCATION OF THE PULL STATION BY DISPLAYING IN ENGLISH THE ALARMED DEVICE ON THE FACP ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - TRANSMITS A FIRE ALARM SIGNAL TO THE DESIGNATED THIRD PARTY LISTED CENTRAL MONITORING STATION BY WAY OF DIGITAL ALARM COMMUNICATOR, B.- AUTOMATIC FIRE DETECTORS ACTIVATION OF ANY AUTOMATIC FIRE DETECTION DEVICE SHALL CAUSE THE FOLLOWING ACTION AND INDICATIONS: - ACTIVATE THE AUDIBLE AND VISUAL SIGNAL THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY. - ACTIVATE THE ALARM LIGHT AND SOUNDER AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - INDICATE THE LOCATION OF THE AUTOMATIC DETECTOR BY DISPLAYING IN ENGLISH, THE ALARMED DEVICE ON THE FACP ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - TRANSMITS A FIRE ALARM SIGNAL TO THE DESIGNATED THIRD PARTY LISTED CENTRAL MONITORING STATION BY WAY OF DIGITAL ALARM COMMUNICATOR. 2.- SUPERVISORY ALARM INITIATING DEVICES. A. -DUCT DETECTORS ACTIVATION OF ANY DUCT DETECTOR SHALL AUTOMATICALLY INITIATE THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: - ACTIVATE THE SUPERVISORY LIGHT AND A DISTINCTIVE SOUND AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - INDICATE THE LOCATION OF THE DUCT DETECTOR BY DISPLAYING IN ENGLISH THE ACTIVATED DEVICE ON THE FACP ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - TRANSMITS A SUPERVISORY ALARM SIGNAL TO THE DESIGNATED THIRD PARTY LISTED CENTRAL MONITORING STATION BY WAY OF DIGITAL ALARM COMMUNICATOR. B. -- SPRINKLER CONTROL VALVES ACTIVATION OF ANY CONTROL VALVE SUPERVISORY SIGNAL INITIATING DEVICE (TAMPER SWITCHES, P.I.V. AND BACK FLOW PREVENTOR) SHALL AUTOMATICALLY INITIATE THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: - ACTIVATE THE SUPERVISORY LIGHT AND A DISTINCTIVE SOUND AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - INDICATE THE LOCATION OF THE ACTIVATED DEVICE ON THE FACP ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - TRANSMITS A SUPERVISORY ALARM SIGNAL TO THE DESIGNATED THIRD PARTY LISTED CENTRAL MONITORING STATION BY WAY OF DIGITAL ALARM COMMUNICATOR. C.- ELEVATOR SHUNT TRIP PG':NER LOSS OF VOLTAGE TO THE CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR THE DISCONNECTING MEANS SHALL CAUSE A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL TO BE INDICATED AT THE F.A.C.P AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. NOTE: NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES WILL NOT BE ACTIVATED. 3.- TROUBLE SIGNALS. THE OCCURRENCE OF ANY TROUBLE IN THE SYSTEM SHALL CAUSE THE FOLLOWING ACTION AND INDICATIONS: - ACTIVATE THE TROUBLE LIGHT AND A DISTINCTIVE TROUBLE SOUND AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - DISPLAY A TROUBLE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACP ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - TRANSMITS A TROUBLE SIGNAL TO THE DESIGNATED THIRD PARTY LISTED CENTRAL MONITORING STATION BY WAY OF DIGITAL ALARM COMMUNICATOR, NOTE: TROUBLE SIGNALS AND THEIR RESTORATION TO NORMAL SHALL BE INDICATED WITHIN 200 SECONDS. 4. -FIRE SAFETY FUNCTIONS. A.- ELEVATOR RECALL (TYPICAL)_ ACTIVATION OF ANY AUTOMATIC DETECTOR IN ELEVATOR LOBBIES, ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM AND ELEVATOR SHAFT SHALL AUTOMATICALLY INITIATE THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: - INITIATE AN ALARM CONDITION IN THE BUILDING FOR EVACUATION PURPOSES. - INDICATE THE LOCATION OF THE AUTOMATIC DETECTOR BY DISPLAYING IN ENGLISH, THE ALARMED DEVICE ON THE FACP ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. - INITIATE THE AUTOMATIC RECALL OPERATION AS FOLLOWS: 1- PRIMARY ELEVATOR RECALL: ACTIVATION OF ANY ELEVATOR LOBBY SMOKE DETECTOR LOCATED ON FLOORS 2, 3 & 4 AND /OR ANY SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM OR ELEVATOR SHAFT SHALL INITIATE PRIMARY RECALL WHICH WILL BRING THE ELEVATOR CAR TO THE 1ST FLOOR AND LOCK THE DOORS IN THE OPEN POSITION. 2- SECONDARY ELEVATOR RECALL: ACTIVATION OF ANY ELEVATOR LOBBY SMOKE DETECTOR LOCATED ON THE 1ST FLOOR SHALL INITIATE RECALL WHICH WILL BRING THE ELEVATOR CAR TO THE 2ND FLOOR AND LOCK THE DOORS IN THE OPEN POSITION. 3- ELEVATOR WARNING LIGHTS: ACTIVATION OF ANY ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM SMOKE DETECTOR OR ELEVATOR HOISTWAY DETECTOR SHALL ALSO INITIATE THE ELEVATOR WARNING LIGHTS TO ALERT THE FIGHTERS AND OTHER EMERGENCY PERSONNEL THAT THE ELEVATORS ARE NO LONGER SAFE TO USE. 4- ELEVATOR SHUNT TRIP, DETECTORS LOCATED IN THE ELEVATOR HOISTWAY AND ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM SHALL BE ACTIVATE A CONTROL SHUNT TO DISCONNECT THE ELEVATOR POWER UPON ACTIVATION. THE SHUNT POWER SHALL BE MONITORED BY THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL. (SEE 2 -C. ABOVE) THE MAXIMUM TIME PERIOD FROM ACTUATION OF THE INITIATING DEVICE UNTIL INITIATION OF ALL RELATED FUNCTIONS AS LISTED ABOVE SHALL BE TEN SECONDS. KEY PLAN (FIRST FLOOR) 0 _*_z N.T.S THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 11- 4.28.3 OF THE FLORIDA ACCESSIBILITY CODE ARE BEING SATISFIED BY UTILIZING THE STANDARDS OF SECTION 7.5 OF NFPA 72 FOR THE PLACEMENT OF VISIBLE NOTIFICATION DEVICES. FIRE ALARM NOTES 1 -FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL BE U.L. LISTED AND NFPA 72 APPROVED AND COMPATIBLE. 2 -RISER INTERCONNECTIONS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC ONLY. 3 -TOTAL ACTIVE AREA: 1,767 SQ. FT. 4 -FIRE ALARM SYSTEM TO BE "POWER LIMITED ". 5 -THE INSTALLATION SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA 70 CHAPTER 760 6 -ALL WIRING AND CONDUIT SIZE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATION, LOCAL CODES AND NFPA. 7 -ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE SOLID OR STRANDED COPPER. 8- MAXIMUM CONDUIT FILLS TO BE 40 %. MINIMUM RACEWAY SIZE 9- SYSTEM SHALL BE GROUNDED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATION AND NEC ARTICLE 250. 10 -ALL FIRE WALL PENETRATION SHALL. BE MADE WITH APPROVED (NEC) ELECTRICAL TUBING AND SEALED WITH A U.L. LISTED FIRE STOPPER. (SEE FIRE STOP DETAIL). 11 -THE 120V AC POWER FEED FOR THE FIRE PANEL MUST BE FROM A DEDICATED CIRCUIT AND THE BREAKER MUST BE IDENTIFIED FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT AND HAVE A LOCK ON IT. 12- VISUAL ALARM PER ANSI A117.1, 4.26, AND ADA APPROVED. WALL MOUNTS 80" A.F.F. TO BOTTOM OF STROBE LENS. 13 -ALL NEW WIRING INSTALLED IN DUCTS, PLENUMS AND OTHER SPACES USED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AIR SHALL BE TYPE FPLP, AS PER NEC (NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE) ARTICLE 760 -61. 14 -ALL N.A.C. WIRING SHALL BE CLASS "B" (STYLE "Y ").
