Ord No 09-92-1504-S 3 ORDINANCE NO.9-92-1504 An Ordinance of the City of South Miami,Florida,amending Subsection 3 of Section 20-4.3,Signage,of the Land Development Code of the City of South Miami,Florida,by permitting extensions,upon written request of the applicant,for a period of thirty days each request with a total time period for temporary signs not to exceed ninety days for any applicant and/or event;providing for severability;providing for conflict and providing an effective date. WHEREAS:the City of South Miami,Florida,currently provides that temporary signs may not be used for a period of time in excess of thirty days;and WHEREAS:there are,from time to time,requests for extensions of thistime period received by the City which the City Manager maY wish to consider on their own merit to deem whether or not an extension is appropriate. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OFSOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA. Section 1.That Subsection (3)of Section 20-4.3,Signage, of the Land Development Code of the City of South Miami,be and the same is hereby amended as follows: (3)Temporary signs shall be removed at the end of thirty (30)calendar day period by the person, firm or organization responsible for the original placement of the sign. Upon request of the applicant,the City Manager may consider an extension of no more than thirty days per written request with the total time period for the temporary sign not to exceed ninety (90) days for any applicant and/or event. Section 2.If any section,clause,sentence or phrase of this Ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction,then said holding shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. Section 3.All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be,and the same are,hereby repealed. Section 4.This Ordinance shall take effect immediately at the time of its passage.
