2. TIGHTLY WRAP 3 INDIVIDUAL LAYERS OF FS -195 R/R STRIPS AROUND PIPE. SECURE EACH WRAP WITH ALUMINUM FOIL TAPE OR APPROVED EQUIVALENT. INSURE ALL LAYERS OF
FS 195 R/R BUTT SECURELY AGAINST THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CONCRETE FLOOR. STAGGER BUTTED SEAMS BETWEEN LAYERS.
3. APPLY FIRE RESTRICTING COLLAR (3M RC -1 OR APPROVED EQ.). REMOVE ENOUGH OF THE RESTRICTING COLLAR TO MAKE ONE WRAP AROUND THE APPLIED FS -195 R/R WITH A
MINIMUM 1" OVERLAP. FIELD CUT TO FIT WITH MOUNTING TABS BENT AWAY FROM THE PIPE AT RIGHT ANGLES AND FLUSH WITH FLOOR.

4. TIGHTLY SECURE RESTRICTING COLLAR AROUND PIPE WITH STEEL HOSE CLAMP CENTERED ON RESTRICTING COLLAR ASSEMBLY.
5. SECURE RESTRICTING COLLAR TO THE SLAB WITH 1 1/2" X 1/4" EXP. BOLTS. USE 1 1/4" DIAM. FENDER WASHERS ON THE MOUNTING TABS. SECURE ALL TABS.
6. FOLD RESTRICTING COLLAR SUPPORT TABS TO LOCK THE WRAP STRIPS IN PLACE.
7. AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR TO THE FLOOR, REPEAT STEP #2 BY BUTTING THE FS -195 R/R WRAP STRIP
AGAINST THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR.
8. REMOVE ENOUGH RESTRICTING COLLAR MATERIAL TO MAKE THE SECOND COLLAR AND REPEAT STEP #3. INSTALL WITH MOUNTING TABS
STRAIGHT UP, SLIGHTLY BELOW THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR HOSE CLAMP. APPLY THE HOSE CLAMP TO THE SECOND RESTRICTING
COLLAR ASSEMBLY LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK TO ALLOW REPOSITIONING OF THE COLLAR VERTICALLY. BEND SUPPORT TABS INWARD TO HOLD
THE WRAP IN PLACE. LOOSEN THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR HOSE CLAMP TO ALLOW THE MOUNTING TABS OF THE SECOND RESTRICTING COLLAR TO PASS UNDER IT.
SLIDE THE SECOND RESTRICTING COLLAR UP WITH THE MOUNTING TABS UNDER THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR HOSE CLAMP.
TIGHTEN THE SECOND RESTRICTING COLLAR HOSE CLAMP. TIGHTEN THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR HOSE CLAMP AND BEND EVERY OTHER MOUNTING TAB OF THE SECOND
RESTRICTING COLLAR OVER THE FIRST RESTRICTING COLLAR HOSE CLAMP.
9. APPLY ONE WRAP OF 3M 3 -5A MAT, MINNESOTA MINING & MFG. CO. TYPE E -5A MAT, OR APPROVED EQ. 6" WIDTH MINIMUM AROUND THE PIPE, PROVIDE MINIMUM 1/2" OVERLAP. BUTT
THE MAT WRAP FLUSH TO THE SECOND RESTRICTING COLLAR ASSEMBLY. SECURE THE MAT WRAP WITH 18 SWIG MIN. TIE WIRES 1" FROM EACH END OF MAT. SEAL THE EDGE OF THE MAT

1. WALL ASSEMLBY - The 1 or 2 hr fire -rated gypsum wallboard /stud wall assembly shall be constructed of the materials and in the manner described
in the individual U300 or U400 Series Wall or Partition Design in the UL Fire Resistance Directory and shall include the following construction features:

following types and sizes of nonmetallic pipes or conduits may be used:
A. POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) PIPE - Nom 2 in. diam (or smaller) Schedule 40 solid core PVC pipe for use in closed (process or supply) or vented
(drain, waste or vent) piping system.
B. RIGID NONMETALLIC CONDUIT ++ - Nom 2 in. dicm (or smaller)(Sshedule 40 or 80) PVC conduit installed in accordance with Article 347 of the
National electric Code (NFPA No. 70).
C. CHLORINATED POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (CPVC ) PIPE - Nom 2 in. diam (or smaller) SDR17 CPVC pipe for use in closed (process or supply) or vented
(drain, waste or vent) piping systems.
D. CELLULAR CORE POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (ccPVC) Pipe - Nom 2 in. diam (or smaller) Schedule 40 cellular core PVC pipe for use in closed (process
or supply) or vented (drain, waste or vent) piping system.

3• FIRESTOP SYSTEM - Installed symmetrically on both sides of wall assembly. The hourly F and T Ratings for the firestop system are equal to the
hourly fire rating of the wall assembly in which it is installed. The details of the firestop system shall be as follows.
A. FILL. , VOID OR CAVITY MATERIALS* - WRAP STRIP - Nom Y4 in. thick intumescent elastomeric material faced on one side with aluminum foil,
supplied in 2 in. wide strips. Nom 2 in, wide strip thightly wrapped around nonmetallic pipe (foil side out) with seam butted. Wrap strip layer
securely bound with steel wire or aluminum foil tape and slid into annular space approx 1 -Y4in. such that approx 3/4 in. of the wrap strip
proturdes from the wall surface.
