GENERAL NOTES & CONDITIONS
SPECIFICATIONS FOR GENERAL CONTRACTORS PERFORMING WORK
FOR PALMETTO BAY VILLAGE CENTER
1.1 UPON COMPLETION OF THE JOB, THE CONTRACTOR
PROVIDE THE TENANT AND LANDLORD WITH:
A. AS -BUILT PLANS.
B. RELEASE OF LIENS FOR ALL SUB - CONTRACTORS.
C. A FINAL RELEASE OF LIENS FROM THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR.
D. THE ORIGINAL BUILDING PERMIT PLANS WITH THE ORIGINAL
INSPECTOR'S SIGNATURES.
1.2 THE LANDLORD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
A. SECURITY OF MATERIALS OF WORK IN PLACE.
B. AIR CONDITIONING WORK NOT BEING PROPERLY
PERFORMED TO ALLOW FOR PROPER COOLING OF THE
LEASED PREMISES UNLESS ALL AIR CONDITIONING WORK
IS DONE IN COORDINATION WITH THE BUILDING
ENGINEERING STAFF.
C. WARRANTY REPAIRS.
D. WINDOW BREAKAGE DURING CONSTRUCTION.
E. WORK STOPPAGES DUE TO WORK INTERFERING WITH
OTHER TENANTS.
F. DELAYS DUE TO CHANGE ORDERS AND
ARCHITECT - CONTRACTOR PROBLEMS.
G. PAYMENT OF ANY DRAW WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE
LANDLORD'S AND OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVES AGREEING
TO THE DEGREE OF COMPLETION, TEN PERCENT (10%)
OF EACH DRAW WILL BE HELD AS A RETAINER UNTIL
THE JOB IS COMPLETED, INCLUDING PUNCH LIST ITEMS,
RELEASES OF LIEN, AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE SPACE
BY BOTH THE TENANT AND LANDLORD.
1.3 THE CONTRACTOR WILL:
SECURE THE NECESSARY BUILDING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS.
INDEMNIFY AND KEEP HARMLESS THE OWNER FROM ALL
LOSSES, DAMAGES, LIABILITIES, AND EXPENSES WHICH MAY
ARISE OR BE CLAIMED AGAINST LANDLORD AND BE IN FAVOR
OF ANY PERSONS, FIRMS, OR CORPORATIONS FOR ANY
INJURIES OR DAMAGES TO THE PERSON OR PROPERTY OF
ANY PERSONS, FIRMS, OR CORPORATION CONSEQUENT UPON
OR ARISING FROM THE CONSTRUCTION, USE, OR OCCUPANCY
OF LEASED PREMISES BY THE CONTRACTOR OR CONSEQUENT
UPON OR ARISING FROM ANY ACTS, OMISSIONS, NEGLECT OR
FAULT OF THE CONTRACTOR , HIS AGENTS, SERVANTS,
EMPLOYEES, LICENSEES, VISITORS, CUSTOMERS, PATRONS,
OR INVITEES, OR CONSEQUENT UPON OR ARISING FROM THE
CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY LAWS,
STATUTES, ORDINANCES, CODES, OR REGULATIONS; THAT THE
OWNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR
DAMAGES, LOSSES OR INJURIES TO THE PERSONS, FIRMS
OR CORPORATIONS EXCEPT WHEN SUCH INJURY, LOSS, OR
DAMAGE RESULTS FROM NEGLIGENCE OF THE OWNER,
HIS AGENTS, OR EMPLOYEES, AND THAT THE CONTRACTOR
WILL IDEMNIFY AND KEEP HARMLESS THE OWNERS AND
BE IN FAVOR OF ANY PERSONS, FIRMS, OR CORPORATIONS FOR
ANY INJURIES OR DAMAGES TO THE PERSON, OR THE PROPERTY
OF ANY PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS WHERE SAID
INJURIES OR DAMAGES AROSE ABOUT OR UPON THE LEASED
PREMISES AS A RESULT OF THE HE NEGLIGENCE OF THE
CONTRACTOR, HIS AGENTS, EMPLOYEES,SERVANTS, LICENSEES,
VISITORS, CUSTOMERS, PATRONS, AND INVITEES. ALL
PERSONAL PROPERTY PLACED OR MOVED INTO OR OUT OF
THE BUILDING SHALL BE AT THE RISK OF THE CONTRACTOR
OR THE OWNER THEREFORE AND THE OWNERS SHALL NOT
BE LIABLE TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR ANY DAMAGE
TO ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY.
1.4 THE CONTRACTOR WILL CONFINE THE CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS
AND DUST TO THE CONSTRUCTION AREA, AWAY FROM
COMPLETED TENANT SPACE OR COMMON AREAS, ALL AREAS
OF THE BUILDING, ESPECIALLY ACCESS AREAS AND COMMON
AREAS, ARE TO BE MAINTAINED IN A CLEAN AND ORDERLY
FASHION. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO TURN THE IMPROVED
PREMISES OVER THE PROPERTY MANAGER IN A CLEAN
CONDITION, READY FOR OCCUPANCY BY THE TENANT.
1.5 THE CONTRACTOR WILL REMOVE ALL TRASH AND DEBRIS,
INCLUDING EXCESS MATERIALS FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE
AND THE BUILDING AND NO UNREASONABLE ACCUMULATION
BE ALLOWED.
1.6 THE CONTRACTOR WILL COORDINATE THE DELIVERY OF
MATERIALS AND THE USE OF THE FREIGHT ELEVATOR AND
REMOVAL OF DEBRIS WITH THE PROPERTY MANAGER
1.7 THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL PARKING
CHARGES OF HIS EMPLOYEES, SUB- CONTRACTORS, AND
VENDORS.
1.8 THE CONTRACTOR WILL SUBMIT ALL CHANGES ORDERS TO
THE CLIENT FOR APPROVAL AND THE DRAWINGS ARE
TO BE REVISED ACCORDINGLY.
1.9 THE CONTRACTOR WILL EXERCISE ALL DUE DILIGENCE IN
MAINTAINING IN A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND TO
ABIDE BY ALL OSHA REGULATIONS.
1.10 UPON COMPLETION, THE CONTRACTOR WILL REMOVE ALL
FOREIGN MATERIALS FROM WINDOWS, FLOORS, GLASS,
HARDWARE AND RESTROOM FIXTURES.
1.11 THE CONTRACTOR WILL NOT UNDULY DISTURB THE PEACEFUL
ENJOYMENT OF ANY TENANTS IN THE BUILDING.
ALL DRILLING THROUGH THE CONCRETE FLOOR SLAB IS TO BE
SCHEDULED WITH THE PROPERTY MANAGER. ALL PLUMBING
INSTALLATIONS REQUIRING ACCESS TO OTHER AREAS OF THE
BUILDING WET COLUMN WILL BE COORDINATED WITH THE
PROPERTY MANAGER.
1.12 THE CONTRACTOR WILL INSTALL CONSTRUCTION AIR
CONDITIONING FILTERS IN ALL RETURN AIR DAMPERS IN
THE DEMISING WALLS IN ORDER TO PREVENT CONSTRUCTION
DUST FROM ENTERING THE MAIN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.
1.13 THE CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE FIVE (5) COPIES OF ALL
SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT INFORMATION SUBMITTALS, AND
ALL OTHER SUBMITTALS REQUIRED FOR REVIEW, ETC. AT
LEAST TWO (2) OF THE ABOVE COPIES SHALL BE ORIGINALS.
1.14 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE JOB SITE AND VERIFY
ALL CONDITIONS OF THE WORK PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A BID.
1.15 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS IN THE
FIELD. DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE ARCHITECT
PRIOR TO THE COMMENCING OF THE WORK IN THE AREA
IN QUESTION.
1.16 ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE TO THE LATEST
EDITION OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE 2001 EDITION AND ANY
APLICABLE CODE.
1.17 IMPACT FEES, WATER AND SEWER CONNECTION FEES AND
DEPOSITS FOR PERMANENT UTILITY SERVICES SHALL BE PAID
FOR THE BY OWNER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE
ARCHITECT AND /OR THE OWNER WHEN THESE FEES APPLY
PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS
PROJECT.
1.18 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS FOR ALL
PREFABRICATED ITEMS OF THE WORK INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING PREFAB STAIR, WHEELCHAIR LIFT,
STOREFRONT DOORS, CABINETS, AIR
CONDITIONING, ETC. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN THE
ARCHITECT'S WRITTEN APPROVAL OF SHOP DRAWINGS PRIOR
TO THEIR FABRICATION. SAMPLES SHALL BE SUBMITTED
UPON REQUEST.
1.19 WHERE EXISTING WALLS, CEILINGS OR FIXTURES ARE
REMOVED: WALLS CEILINGS AND FLOORS SHALL BE PATCHED;
ELECTRIC AND PLUMBING SHALL BE CAPPED.
1.20 PROVIDE 1 -3 ABC RATED FIRE EXTINGUISHER PER 2500
SQ. FT., AND MAXIMUM INTERVALS OF 75' -0". FIRE
EXTINGUISHER SHALL BE BLDG. STANDARD, RECESSED TYPE
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY.
GENERAL NOTES (CONT.
1.21 ANY ITEM OF WORK NECESSARY TO THE PROPER
COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION WHICH IS NOT
SPECIFICALLY COVERED IN THESE DOCUMENTS SHALL
BE PERFORMED IN A MATTERS DEEMED GOOD
PRACTICE OF THE TRADE INVOLVED.
1.22 ALL NEWS MATERIALS AND FINISHES SHALL MATCH
EXISTING UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE, SEE OWNER
AND /OR ARCHITECT FOR APPROVAL OF ALTERNATIVES.
1.23 BUILDING HAS A COMPLETE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS FOR THE RELOCATION AND
CONDITION OF SPRINKLER HEADS.SPRINKLER HEADS
SHALL MATCH EXISTING.
1.24 NOT USED
1.25 CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE EXISTING AND NEW FLOOR
SURFACES FOR PROPER LEVELING TO RECEIVE NEW
NEW PROPOSED FLOOR FINISHES.
1.26 CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE PROPER BACKING AND
BRACING AT ALL AREAS TO RECEIVE MILLWORK
CABINETS, SHELVING, ETC.
1.27 ALL PROPOSED MILLWORK CONSTRUCTION SHALL
COMPLY WTH AN CUSTOM STANDARDS, TYP.
1.28 CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE AT ROUGH FRAMING
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF GYPSUM WALL BOARD ALL
PROPOSED CONDUIT TYPES RUNS AND LOCATIONS W/
LOW VOLTAGE VENDOR. TYP.
1.29 USE AND INTERPRETATION OF THIS DRAWING
A. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION, AIA DOCUMENT A201, ARE A PART OF
A CONTRACT DOCUMENT AS DESCRIBE USE AND
INTENT OF THE DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
INCLUDE NOT ONLY THE DRAWINGS, BUT ALSO THE
OWNER - CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT, CONDITIONS OF THE
CONTRACT, THE SPECIFICATIONS, ADDENDA, AND
MODIFICATIONS ISSUED AFTER EXECUTION OF THE
CONTRACT. THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ARE
COMPLEMENTARY, AND WHAT IS REQUIRED BY ANY
ONE SHALL BE BINDING AS IF REQUIRED BY ALL.
WORK NOT COMPLETELY DELINEATED HEREON SHALL
BE CONSTRUCTED OF THE SAME MATERIALS
AND DETAILED SIMILARLY AS WORK SHOWN MORE
COMPLETELY ELSEWHERE IN THE CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS.
B. BY USE OF THE DRAWINGS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE
PROJECT THE OWNER REPRESENTS THAT HE HAS
REVIEWED AND APPROVED THE DRAWNGS, AND THAT
THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT PHASE OF THE PROJECT
IS COMPLETE. THE CONTRACTOR REPRESENTS THAT
HE HAS VISITED THE SITE, FAMILIARIZED HIMSELF
WITH THE LOCAL CONDITIONS, VERIFIED FIELD
DIMENSIONS AND CORRELATED HIS OBSERVATIONS WITH
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
C. THE CONTRACT SUM AND THE CONTRACT TIME MAY BE
CHANGED ONLY BY CHANGE ORDER TO THE
CONTRACTOR SIGNED BY THE OWNER AND THE
ARCHITECT. ANY WORK PERFORMED IN VARIANCE WITH
THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND NOT COVERED BY
THE ARCHITECT'S WRITTEN ORDER FOR A MINOR
CHANGE IN THE WORK OR A CHANGE ORDER, WILL
NOT BE ACCEPTED.
D. AS INSTRUMENTS OF SERVICE, ALL DRAWINGS,
SPECIFICATIONS AND COPIES THEREOF FURNISHED BY
THE ARCHITECT ARE HIS SPECIFICATIONS AND
PROPERTY. THEY ARE TO BE USED ONLY FOR THIS
PROJECT AND ARE NOT TO BE USED ON ANY OTHER
PROJECT. CHANGES TO THE DRAWINGS NOT TO BE
USED ON ANY OTHER PROJECT. CHANGES TO THE
DRAWINGS MAY ONLY BE MADE BY THE ARCHITECT.
ANY SUBMISSION OR DISTRIBUTION WITHOUT THE

2.6 GC SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL OF

2.9 ALL EXISTING HOLES /CRACKS IN SLAB AND THOSE
RESULTING FROM THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
SHALL BE FILLED /REPAIRED AND THE SURFACE
PATCHED SMOOTH AND LEVEL WTH ADJACENT
FLOOR SURFACE, IN A MANNER ACCEPTABLE TO
THE ARCHITECT.
2.10 ALL NECESSARY WOOD BLOCKING /GROUNDS, ETC.,
ARE TO BE SUPPLIED AS FACTORY TREATED FIRE-
PROOFED ELEMENTS. GC SHALL FULLY COORDINATE
SETTING /PLACEMENT OF THESE ELEMENTS AS REQ'D
BY LOCAL CODE /BUILDING OR SURROUNDING
CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS.
A. GROUNDS /BLOCKING MAY NOT BE WHOLLY SHOWN

2.11 GC SHALL PROVIDE GENERAL CARPENTRY AS
REQUIRED FOR WORK WHICH MAY NOT FALL INTO
JURISDICTION OF A SPECIFIC TRADE, BUT IS
REQUIRED FOR PROPER JOB EXECUTION AND
COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION.
2.12 INSTALL ALL PLUMBING NECESSARY FOR THE
INDICATED PLUMBING FIXTURES /APPURTENANCES.
SAID UNITS SHALL BE AS SPECIFIED. (REFER TO
MECHANICAL PLANS.)

7.15 FINISH SAMPLES SHALL BE SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL

7.16 PLASTIC LAMINATE SHALL BE SHOP APPLIED
ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS.
7.17 PLASTIC LAMINATE SHALL BE ONE SINGLE SHEET ON
ANY ONE SURFACE. JOINTS, IF REQUIRED, SHALL BE
INDICATED ON SHOP DRAWINGS FOR APPROVAL.
ALL JOINTS SHALL BE TIGHT WITH NO SEPARATION.
7.18 WOOD DOOR AND WINDOW FRAMES, ETC., SHALL BE
SECURED TO SOLID WOOD GROUNDS /BLOCKING PROVIDED
AS PART OF CEILING AND WALL CONSTRUCTION.
7.19 DIMENSIONS FOR WOOD FRAMES SHALL BE FIELD
VERIFIED BY GC AFTER RELATED ADJACENT
CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE.
7.20 WOOD REVEAL FILLERSTRIPS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY
GC FOR ALL BUILT -IN CABINETS. FILLERS SHALL BE
OF CLOSE GRAINED STOCK, FILLED, SANDED AND
PAINTED (SEMI - GLOSS) TO MATCH ADJACENT
CONSTRUCTION (EXCEPT AS NOTED). FILLERS
SHALL BE INCLUDED FOR ALL BUILT -IN FILES,
STORAGE CABINETS, BOOKCASES, ETC.
7.21 INSTALLATION OF REVEAL STRIPS SHALL BE
EXECUTED IN A NEAT, WORKMAN LIKE MANNER
WITHOUT DAMAGE TO ADJACENT CABINETS OR
SURFACES. PIECES SHALL BE SCRIBED TO FIT AND
FASTENED TO BLOCKING.
7.22 GLASS PANEL SIZES AND JOINTS (INCLUDING JOINT
SEALANT) SHALL BE APPROVED BY ARCHITECT.
7.23 DOOR HARDWARE SHALL BE SUPPLIED AND INSTALLED BY GC.
7.24 HARDWARE WILL BE SPECIFIED BY ARCHITECT. SPECIFICATIONS
SHOULD BE THE BETTER OF BUILDING STANDARD OR
EQUIVALENT IN QUALITY REFER TO HARDWARE SPECS.
7.25 GC SHALL PROVIDE ALL REQUIRED SIGNAGE AND
IDENTIFICATION FOR ALL CABINETS AND EXTINGUISHERS.
GENERAL DEMOLITION NOTES:
8.1 REMOVE EXISTING RECEPTACLES, TELEPHONE, SWITCHES, AND ANY
ELECTRICAL DEVICES IN WALLS TO BE DEMOLISHED. RELOCATE ANY
OF THESE DEVICES AS INDICATED OR REQUIRED BY THE DRAWNGS,
ARCHITECT, OR OWNER REPRESENTATIVE. PROVIDE ARCHITECT WITH
AS -BUILT OF DRAWINGS OF FINAL INSTALLATION FOR RECORD
PURPOSES. CONTRACTOR IS NOTIFIED THAT NOT ALL EXISTING DEVICES
MAY HAVE BEEN INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND THAT SOME
EXISTING ELECTRICAL DEVICES MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SHOWN IN THEIR
ACTUAL LOCATION. CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO VISIT SITE AND
BECOME FAMILIAR WTH THE EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO
DETERMINING THE WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED AS PART
OF HIS /HER BID.
8.2 THE WORK SHALL INCLUDE THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS,
CUTTING, EXTENDING, CONNECTING, REPAIRING, ADAPTING, AND OTHER
WORKCOINCIOENTAL HERETO. TOGETHER WITH SUCH TEMPORARY
INSTALLATIONS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO SATISFY THE DEMOLITION
PROGRAM. APPROVAL SHALL BE SECURED FROM THE LANDLORD/
ARCHITECT PRIOR TO CUTTING/DRILLING ANY STRUCTURAL SUPPORT.
8.3 ALL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AFFECTED BY THE REMOVAL,
RELOCATION, INSTALLATION OF ANY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT SHALL BE
REPAIRED AND FINISHED AS REQUIRED TO MATCH EXISTING CONDITION
OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS,
OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
8.4 WHEN ELECTRICAL DEVICES ARE INSTALLED IN PARTITIONS OR
CEILINGS TO BE REMOVED, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL
DISCONNECT THEM UP TO THE NEXT OUTLET TO REMAIN OR BACK TO THE
FED THROUGH

PANEL BOARD. IF EXISTING TO E
DEMOLSHED PARTITIONS OR CEILINGS, THE CIRCUIT SHALL BE

8.5 ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM STRUCTURE
OTHER ELECTRICAL ITEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS WORK SHALL BE
REMOVED IF NOT REQUIRED FOR NEW EQUIPMENT TO CONTINUE IN
SERVICE.
8.6 CONTRACTOR SHALL DEMOLISH ANY INTERIOR FINISHES TO COMPLETE
THE NECESSARY AND PROPOSED WORK AS DIRECTED BY THE
ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS, INTERIOR DESIGN DRAWNGS, SPECIFICATIONS,
OR BY OWNER REPRESENTATIVES.
B.7 EXISTING FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT, AND ALL DEBRIS WHICH ARE
REQUIRED TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE REMOVED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WTH OWNER REPRESENTATIVES PRIOR TO
REMOVAL OF SUCH.
9.8 ALL ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING LINES WHICH REQUIRE REMOVAL OR
ALTERATION ARE TO BE DONE SO BY THE CONTRACTOR. LINES TO BE
CAPPED AND PREPARED FOR REMOVAL OR RE- ROUTING AS SPECIFIED
8.9 REMOVE ALL UTILITIES IN DEMOLITION AREAS AND CONSTRUCTION
AREAS IN A MANNER, AND IN THE TIME, SATISFACTORY TO THE UTILITY
COMPANY. IF UTILITY COMPANY DESIRES TO EFFECT THE REMOVAL OF
THE MATERIALS, THEY SHALL BE PERMITTED TO DO SO.
8.10 COVER ITEMS AS SPECIFIED BY OWNER /OWNER REPRESENTATIVE TO
PROTECT FROM DUST AND DEBRIS.
B.11 SALVAGED MATERIALS SHALL BE REMOVED, CLEANED, AND PREPARED
FOR RE- INSTALLATION. OWNER MAINTAINS OWNERSHIP OF ALL MATERIALS
UNLESS OTHERWSE SPECIFIED.
8.12 WHERE EXISTING WALLS, CEILINGS, AND FIXTURES HAVE BEEN REMOVED,
AREAS SHALL BE PATCHED TO MATCH EXISTING FINISHES, OR FINISHES
TO BE ADDED AS PER PLANS, INTERIOR DESIGNER, OR AS PER OWNER
8.13 WHERE EXISTING ACOUSTICAL CEILING PANELS ARE TO BE REMOVED,
MATERIALS SHALL BE REMOVED IN A MANNER
ACCEPTABLE TO BUILDING ARCHITECT /OWNER. CONTRACTOR SHALL
COORDINATE STORAGE AND /OR DISPOSAL OF SOLID MATERIALS WITH
BUILDING OWNER /REPRESENTATIVE.
B.14 WHERE EXISTING WORK IS DAMAGED IN THE EXECUTION OF THIS
CONTRACT, OR WHERE OPENINGS ARE LEFT DUE TO THE REMOVAL OF
PIPES, EQUIPMENT OR APPARATUS, THE SAME SHALL BE REPAIRED OR
CLOSED UP TO CORRESPOND IN MATERIAL, QUALITY, SHAPE AND FINISH
WITH THAT OF SIMILAR AND ADJOINING WORK, UNLESS OTHERWISE CALLED
FOR. WHERE DAMAGE IS UNREPAIRABLE, NEW ITEMS OR EQUIPMENT
SHALL BE PROVIDED. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY
WATERPROOFING, FIRE STOPPING AND SEALING OF PENETRATIONS LEFT
FROM REMOVED EQUIPMENT OR PRODUCED BY THIS WORK.
8.15 INTERRUPTION OF EXISTING SERVICES AND /OR OPERATION OF
FACILITIES SHALL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM. CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH
ALL MATERIALS REQUIRED WHENEVER TEMPORARY CONNECTIONS ARE
NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN CONTINUITY OF SERVICE. INTERRUPTION OF
EXISTING SERVICES, THE INSTALLATION OF TEMPORARY FACILITIES, AND
THE WORK OF MAKING FINAL CONNECTIONS TO THE NEW WORK SHALL BE
DONE ONLY AT SUCH TIMES PERMITTED AND SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE
BY THE ARCHITECT /OWNER WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST. CARE MUST BE
USED IN REMOVING SERVICES TO AREAS BEING DEMOLISHED SO THAT
SERVICES TO OTHER AREAS WHICH MIGHT BE SERVED THROUGH THESE
AREAS WILL NOT BE INTERRUPTED.
8.16 WHERE DEMOLITION WORK REQUIRES TEMPORARY INTERRUPTION OF
ELECTRICAL, TELEPHONE, TV, ALARM OR COMMUNICATION SERVICES,
RESPECTIVE UTILITIES AND /OR COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES SHALL BE
NOTIFIED AS NECESSARY, AND ALL WORK DONE SHALL BE UNDER
SUPERVISION AND THEIR ESTABLISHED STANDARDS.
8.17 ALL LIGHTING FIXTURES, RECEPTACLES, SWTCHES, WRING DEVICES,
SPECIAL OUTLETS, TELEPHONE CABLES, TV CABLES, MISCELLANEOUS
SYSTEM WRING, POWER CONDUCTORS, CONDUITS, ELECTRICAL BOXES,
RACEWAYS AND ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMPONENTS
LOCATED IN THE AREAS SHOWN AS BEING DEMOLISHED OR NOT USED
AFTER WORK IS COMPLETED SHALL BE REMOVED UNLESS OTHERWISE
