THESE ARE EXPRESSLY INCLUDED AS PART OF THE WORK WHENEVER REQUIRED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER. IGNORANCE ON THE PART OF THE CONTRACTOR WILL IN NO WAY RELIEVE HIM OF THE OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ASSUMED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. 2. THE NATURE OF THE REMODEL TYPE CONSTRUCTION POSES SPECIAL PROBLEMS FOR THE DESIGNER ENGINEERS AS WELL AS THE PLUMBING CONTRACTOR. EVERY EFFORT HAS BEEN MADE BY THE ENGINEERS TO SHOW AND VERIFY, WHERE POSSIBLE, THE LOCATION OF THE EXISTING PLUMBING SYSTEMS. THE MAJOR PORTION OF THE PLUMBING SYSTEMS ARE AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS: HOWEVER MINOR DEVIATIONS MAY BECOME EVIDENT AS THE JOB PROGRESSES. NO ADVANTAGE IS TO BE TAKEN BY THE PLUMBING CONTRACTOR BECAUSE THESE MINOR DIFFERENCES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE PREMESIS AND COMPARE SAME WITH THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND SATISFY HIMSELF OF THE CONDITIONS EXISTING AT THE BUILDING BEFORE DELIVERY OF HIS PROPOSAL. NO ADDITIONAL ALLOWANCE WILL BE MADE TO THE CONTRACTOR DUE TO HIS NEGLECT OR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE SPECIFIED REQUIREMENTS. 3. CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING HIS DEMOLITION WORK WITH OTHER TRADES, AND TO PROTECT FROM DAMAGE EXISTING PIPES USED FOR FUTURE CONNECTIONS. 4. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY SLOPE AND DEPTHS AND EXACT LOCATIONS OF CONNECTION POINTS TO EXISTING PRESSURE OR DRAINAGE LINES BEFORE COMMENCING WORK AND MAKE MODIFICATIONS AS REQUIRED WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER. ANY DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT UP TO THE ENGINEER FOR REVEIW. 5. EXISTING PIPES SERVING AREAS REMAINING IN SERVICE AT THIS TIME SHALL NOT BE INTERRUPTED UNLESS A TEMPORARY INTERRUPTION IS COORDINATED WITH THE OWNER. 6. ALL SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS SHALL BE SCHEDULED WITH THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE OWNER. ALL REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL WORK SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE OWNER. 7. ALL EXISTING PIPING INCLUDED IN THE SCOPE OF WORK SHALL BE SNAKED OUT TO THE BASE OF THE STACK AND 5' BEYOND AND TESTED BY THE CONTRACTOR. 8. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT PROPERTY IN AREAS WHERE WORK IS BEING CONDUCTED. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED TO BUILDING COMPONENTS DUE TO WORK OPERATIONS. PATCH AND REPAIR EXISTING SURFACES DAMAGED AS REQUIRED TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES. 9. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL EXISTING CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING EXISTING TO REMAIN AND TO BE REMOVED. ITEMS AND DEBRIS TO BE REMOVED WILL BE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF BY THE CONTRACTOR, WITHIN HIS CONTRACT, AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. 10. ANY UTILITY LINES TO REMAIN AND THAT ARE BROKEN OR DAMAGED DURING DEMOLITION OPERATIONS SHALL BE REPAIRED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO THE CONTRACT PRICE, OR SHALL BE REPAIRED BY THE OWNER AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. 12. LOCATIONS WHERE SAW CUTTING OPERATIONS OF THE FLOOR SLAB ARE REQUIRED SHALL BE PATCHED BACK TO MATCH EXISTING FLOOR CONSTRUCTION ONCE THE NEW UNDERGROUND PIPING INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE. 13. EXISTING PIPES SERVING AREAS REMAINING IN SERVICE AT THIS TIME SHALL NOT BE INTERRUPTED UNLESS A TEMPORARY INTERRUPTION IS COORDINATED WITH THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE OWNER. 14. REMOVE OR RELOCATE EXISTING PIPING IN CONFLICT WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING DRAINAGE, WATER AND SATISFY CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR PROHIBITED DEAD ENDS. 15. CAP EXISTING HOT COLD WATER, WASTE, VENT AND SOIL PIPING AT POINT THAT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION, I.E. BELOW FINISHED FLOOR, BEHIND FINISHED WALLS OR ABOVE HUNG CEILINGS. 16. THE WORK SHALL INCLUDE THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, CUT- TINGS, EXTENSIONS, CONNECTIONS, REPAIRING, ADAPTING AND OTHER WORK INCINDENTAL THERETO, TOGETHER WITH SUCH TEMPORARY CONNECTIONS AS MAY BE REQUIRED. 17. EXISTING FIXTURES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE SALVAGED OR DISPOSED OF AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER. 18. ANY FORESEEABLE COST OF PIPING NOT INDICATED WHERE FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT ARE SHOWN BUT CONSIDERED NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETION OF WORK IN A PROPER MANNER SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO BIDDING AND SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THIS CONTRACTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE THE COST OF MINOR OFFSETS AND DEVIATIONS NOT INDICATED ON PLANS. 19. CONTRACTOR SHALL DO HIS OWN CUTTING AND REMOVAL OF ALL HIS RELATED WORK IN ALL LOCATIONS WHERE REQUIRED, EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AND /OR AS SPECIFIED. 20. CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE ALL EXISTING FIXTURE, TRIM AND REPLACE WITH NEW FIXTURES AND TRIM AS SPECIFIED CONNECT NEW FIXTURE TO EXISTING SOIL, WASTE VENT WATER PIPING. 21.
