1) The fire alarm system Is U.L. Listed as POWER LIMITED g
of the general ol.orm typeDor NFPA,72. All equipment Is
U.L. Listed for; Its_ I itended ure.
2) The fire alari� panel Is prcwided with standby; battery
per NFPA 72 w-th P_y hour,e„standbl- and -5 mimites- alarm.
Should loss of normal 12UVHC opera{ic g power— =cur, -the
fire alarm panel will automatically transfer to the
standby battery.
3) A break in any field wiring or grounding of any
conductor will result In the activation of the fire alarm
panel trouble buzzer, which can be slenced by operating
the 'Trouble Silence' button on the fire alarm panel.
4) Putt stations to be mounted at 48' AFF per the ADA
code.
5) A/V devices to be mounted at 80' AFF per the NFPA
code.
6) Ceiing mounted smoke detectors shall not be located In
p direct airflow, nor closer than 3 feet from an air
supply difuser per NFPA 72.
7) Power up and power down of the fire alarm panel must
be done In the proper sequences
Power Down, Disconnect battery and then turn
off the AC power at the breaker.
Power Upt Turn on the AC power at the breaker
and then connect the battery.
NOTEi Do NOT disconnect the AC power feed from
the terminal block to disconnect power.
8) The 120VAC primary power shall conform to NFPA 72
2002 Edition Section 4.4.1.41
4,4142 -'Mechanical Protection
4.4.1.4.2.1 - The dedicated branch clrcuit(s) and connectlor
shall be mechanically protected.
4.4,1.4.2.2 - Circuit disconnecting means shall have a red
marking, shall be accessible only to authorized personnel,
and shall be Idenlfled as 'FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT.'
4.4,1.4,2.3 - The location of the disconnecting means shrill'
be permanetly Idendlfled at the fire alarm control unit.
9) The control (relay) module for AHU shutdown shalt be
located within three (3) feet of the device being
controlled. NFPA 101. The control module
shall be located such that the front mounted LED Is
visible upon entry Into mechanical room. Should the duct
detectors be located above the ceiling, the control
module shall be located In the ceiling directly below the
duct • detector so the LED Is clearly visible. The relay
contacts have a MAXIMUM cnbabillty of 1.0 amps 2 24v
and 0.3 amps 2 120VAC. Contractor must verify that the
shutdown circuit does NOT exceed these maximum current
ratings.
10) The Installing contractor shall set the device address
as Identified on the Installation wiring disgrams,' and
there shall be no changes from the addresses shown, as
this drawing will serve as the as -built drawing, and the
software program Is being written based on the
addresses shown,
11) The specified 'SLC /Data' loop cable is extremely
Important, and it Is recommended that It NOT be
substituted by the Installer. The specified cable has
been selected because It meets all of the techinal
requirements of the system being Installed and Is on the
approved factory list of cables.
