12-637-001SCOPE of WORK
This is an existing 2 -Story Human Resources building located at South Miami
Hospital, with an existing Faraday Firewatch XVI fire alarm control panel. The
scope of this project shall be the remodeling & renovation .of a portion, of the 2nd
floor. Under this scope, new Fire Alarm Notification devices shall be installed.
There are existing initiating devices, and these devices (Smoke Detectors) shall
remain in the same location, and not altered. Also, there are two (2) existing Pull
Stations that shall be replaced with new devices. All new initiating devices will be
connected to and supervised by the existing fire alarm panel, which will result in
a fully functional single system for the existing facility. There shall be no other
work preformed under this scope.
The new Notification Appliances (Horn /Strobes & Strobe Lights) shall be
connected to a new Remote Power Booster that shall be located on the 1St floor
next to the existing Fire Alarm Control Panel. This new Power Booster shall be
connected to, powered & supervised by the existing Fire Alarm Control Panel per
the manufacturer's instructions & NFPA 72.
NOTE: The existing Firewatch 16 Fire Alarm Control Panel is NOT capable, of
silencing the Horns, and leaving the Strobe Lights flashing. When the Silence
switch is activated, the Horns will silence, and the Strobe Lights shall turn off as
well.
The devices being installed in this project are of the same manufacturer, and are
UL /FM listed per NFPA 72 and are 100% compatible.

IS OF THE SAME MANUFACTURER AND IS 100%,
COMPATIBLE AND IS UL /FM LISTED PER N.F.P.A. 72
THERE ARE NO NEW DEVICES BEING CONNECTED UNDER THIS SCOPE
TO THE EXISTING FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL, THEREFORE NO STANDBY
BATTERY CALCULATIONS FOR THE EXIST FIRE ALARM PANEL ARE REQUIRED.
INSTALLING CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY' THAT THE
EXISTING SMOKE DETECTORS TO REMAIN ARE
COVERED & PROTECTED DURING THE REMODELING
FROM DEMOLITION /CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS AND DUST
PARTICLES.
IF TAPE (MASKING /DUCT, ETC.) IS USED TO COVER
