TYPICAL WALL /BEAM REPAIR PROCEDURE:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.- REMOVE ALL DAMAGED OR UNSOUND CONCRETE.
2.- SAW CUT THE PERIMETER OF THE REPAIR AREA FORMING A SHOULDER PERPENDICULAR TO THE
SUBSTRATE.
3.- CHIP OUT THE CONCRETE TO EXPOSE THE ENTIRE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE REBAR REMOVAL
SHALL CONTINUE ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE REINFORCING STEEL AT LEAST 611 OF THE
UNCORRODED REBAR 16 OBSERVED. EXCAVATE CONCRETE TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF 3/411
BELOW THE REBAR TO ENABLE AN EXAMINATION OF THE LOSS OF CROSS - SECTION AND TO
ALLOW FOR NEW MATERIAL TO COMPLETELY ENCAPSULATE THE REBAR.
4.- VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL SURFACES SHALL BE LEFT ROUGHENED WITH AT LEAST A 1/411
AMPLITUDE.
5.- SANDBLAST OR CLEAN WITH A WIRE BRUSH THE CONCRETE AND EXPOSED REBAR INSERT NEW
BARS OF EQUAL DIAMETER NEXT TO THOSE THAT HAVE DETERIORATED BY MORE THAN 156. ALL
NEW STEEL SHALL BE ASTM A -615 GRADE 60. LAP SPLICES SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
ACI 318 -05.
6.- COAT ALL NEW AND EXISTING REBAR WITH SIKA ARMATEC 110 EPOGEM.
7.- PATCH WITH SIKAREPAIR 223 OR POUR WITH SIKACRETE 211.
8.- REPAIRS TO CONFORM TO ORIGINAL MEMBER SHAPE AND SIZE.

CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE REBAR REMOVAL SHALL CONTINUE ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE
REINFORCING STEEL 111 OF THE UNCORRODED STEEL 15 OBSERVED.
4. VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL SURFACES SHALL BE LEFT ROUGHENED WITH AT LEAST A 1/411

5- SANDBLAST OR CLEAN WITH WIRE BRUSH THE CONCRETE AND EXPOSED REBAR,
