generated if either of the filter DPS's are activated signifying a dirty filter.
High supply air temperature or return air humidity shall generate an alarm.
Safety
Smoke detectors In the supply and return air streams shall be interlocked with the fire alarm system.
The fire alarm shall de- energize the supply fan upon
activation. All other dampers associated exhaust fans and valves position to their normal is closed or
off position after thefan is de- energized.
A, pressure switch is installed across the supply fan. The DDC system uses this
switch to confirm the fan is In the desired state (i.e. on or off) and generates an alarm If
status deviates from DDC start /stop control.
A high static pressure switch with manual reset is installed and wired into the VFD safety
circuit to shut down the fan if the pressure in the duct becomes too high.

The constant volume air handling unit consists of a mixed air section with outdoor a r
damper, pre - filter, final filter, chilled water cooling coil and supply fan with VFD. The
unit is DDC controlled using electric actuation.
The air handling unit is scheduled for automatic operation.
The air handling unit operates in Occupied, Unoccupied, and Safety modes as follows
(All suggested set points and settings are adjustable.):
The an starts or continues to run and the unit is controlled as follows:
The outside air damper is open and flow monitor station activated.
The VFD will be controlled to maintain a constant volume of air from the fan measured by
the Air Flow Measuring station at the fan inlet flow sensor.
2
The cooling coil valve modulates to maintain the coil leaving air temperature set point.
t
Interlocked exhaust fans will run when the AHU is running and will shut down when the AHU stops.
All fire smoke dampers in the exhaust system shall be interlocked with the exhaust fan. End
switches shall be wired back to the fan starter to only allow the fan to start once the
dampers are open.
Fire /Smoke dampers are interlocked to open when the AHU is energized. End switches on
the Fire /Smoke dampers will be wired back to the VFD to only allow the AHU to start
once the dampers are open.
Alarms
An alarm willbe generated if the fan status does not match the start /stop of the fan
(if fan is commanded on, but status is off, an alarm will be generated). And alarm will be
generated if either of the filter DPS's are activated signifying a dirty filter.
