REFER TO THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS FOR PRESSURE CLASSIFICATION AND SEALING REQUIREMENTS. 3. EXHAUST AIR DUCTWORK SHALL BE INSULATED. 4. ALL CONCEALED SUPPLY AIR DUCTS SHALL BE EXTERNALLY INSULATED WITH DUCT WRAP AS INDICATED IN SPECIFICATIONS. RIGID INSULATION SHALL BE PROVIDED IN EXPOSED LOCATIONS. 5. RETURN DUCTS LOCATED IN CEILING SPACE SHALL BE INSULATED THE SAME AS THE SUPPLY AIR DUCTS. 6. EXACT LOCATION OF AIR DISTRIBUTION DEVICES SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE LIGHTS, SPRINKLER HEADS AND WITH THE SUSPENDED CEILING TILES. 7. CHILLED WATER PIPING SHALL BE SCHEDULE 40 BLACK STEEL WITH DIELECTRIC FITTINGS AT DISSIMILAR METALS. AT THE CONTRACTORS OPTION, ABOVE GROUND CHILLED WATER PIPING RUNOUTS TO THE INDIVIDUAL AIR HANDLING UNITS, WHEN OF SIZE OF 2" AND SMALLER, MAY BE TYPE "L" COPPER NOT TO EXCEED 20 FEET IN LENGTH. VALVES AND FITTINGS IN COPPER LINES SHALL HAVE BRAZED JOINTS. ALL UNDERGROUND CHILLED WATER LINES SHALL BE WELDED STEEL. REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS FOR INSULATION REQUIREMENTS. ALL EXTERIOR PIPE NIPPLES SHALL BE BRASS. 8. COORDINATE INSTALLATION WITH ALL OTHER INVOLVED TRADES. FLEX DUCT SHALL MEET NFPA 90A WITH FLAME SPREAD UNDER 25, SMOKE DEVELOPED UNDER 50, AND SHALL BE RATED FOR 2" W.G. PRESSURE AND 0 TO 250 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. PROVIDE METAL ADJUSTABLE CLAMPING DEVICES, SCREW OPERATED. USE TWIST -LOCK CONICAL TAP COLLARS AT CONNECTIONS INTO SHEET METAL DUCTWORK. FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK MAY BE USED FOR BRANCHES TO DIFFUSERS AS INDICATED ON DRAWINGS. DO NOT EXCEED EIGHT (8) FEET IN LENGTH FOR ANY FLEX DUCT. ACCEPT MANUFACTURER FLEX MASTER 8M AND THERMOFLEX MKE, NO OTHER MANUFACTURER WILL BE ACCEPTABLE. 11. SPIN COLLARS SHALL BE OF THE INTEGRAL DAMPER TYPE WITH LOCKING WING NUT AND 2 INCH TALL STAND OFF BRACKET. ALL SPIN COLLARS SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF DUCT WITH THE CONNECTION SEALED WITH MASTIC; CONNECTION TO TOP OR BOTTOM OF DUCT SHALL NOT BE USED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER. SPRAY PAINT DAMPER HANDLES DAY -GLOW ORANGE AND INSTALL A 24 INCH LONG RED RIBBON ON THE HANDLE FOR T.A.B. PURPOSES AFTER INSTALLATION. 12. ELEVATIONS GIVEN: BE = BOTTOM ELEVATION, CE = CENTERLINE ELEVATION, TE = TOP ELEVATION, ARE TAKEN FROM THE CONCRETE FLOOR SLAB. THESE ELEVATIONS ARE APPROXIMATE AND MUST BE VERIFIED IN THE FIELD BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO FABRICATION OF ANY DUCTWORK OR PIPING. 13. PROVIDE SINGLE THICKNESS METAL TURNING VANES IN ALL SQUARE ELBOWS INCLUDING SUPPLY, RETURN, EXHAUST AND OUTSIDE AIR DUCTS. WHERE UNEQUAL SQUARE ELBOWS ARE SHOWN, TURNING VANES WITH TRAILING EDGE EXTENSIONS SHALL BE USED. 14. PROVIDE MANUAL AIR VENTS AT ALL HIGH POINTS IN THE PIPING SYSTEM AND AT EACH AIR HANDLING UNIT. 15. PROVIDE ACCESS DOORS AT ALL FIRE DAMPERS, SMOKE DETECTORS, FIRE/SMOKE DAMPERS AND AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICES WITH MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE STANDARD SIZE PERMITTED B DUCT DIMENSIONS. DOOR SHALL BE REMOVABLE TYPE WITH SAFETY CHAIN AND SHALL HAVE CAM LATCHES AND BE FULLY GASKETED TO THE PERIMETER. PROVIDE ACCESS PANELS IN CEILING WHERE REQUIRED PROVIDING ACCESS TO DAMPERS. 16. LOCATIONS FOR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSOR ARE APPROXIMATE IN NATURE AND SHALL NOT BE SCALED FROM THE DRAWINGS. THE LOCATION OF FIRE DAMPERS IN DUCT PENETRATIONS IN RATED WALLS AND PARTITIONS IS BASED ON THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE -2007 (BUILDING AND MECHANICAL), WHERE EXCEPTIONS ARE ALLOWED BY CODE FOR OMISSION OF DAMPERS. THESE EXCEPTIONS HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED FOR THIS PROJECT. 23. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A COMPLETE SET OF CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND REVIEW TO ENSURE ALL ITEMS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS ARE INCLUDED IN HIS BASE BID. ALL ROOF - MOUNTED EQUIPMENT THAT REQUIRES SERVICE SUCH AS FANS, SHALL BE INSTALLED A MINIMUM OF 10' -0" FORM ANY ROOF EDGE WHEN THE REQUIREMENT FOR A GUARD ON THE ROOF PARAPET IS NOT SPECIFIED ON THE ROOF PLANS. 27. ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT INSTALLED OUTDOORS AND THAT IS EXPOSED TO THE WIND SHALL BE BUILT AND ANCHORED TO SUSTAIN HURRICANE FORCE WINDS AS OUTLINED IN SECTION 6 OF ASCE STANDARD 7. WIND VELOCITY (3- SECOND GUST) USED IN STRUCTURAL CALCULATION SHALL BE 146 MILES PER HOUR IN MIAMI -DADE COUNTY. 28. EQUIPMENT AND APPLIANCES SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED BY THE TERMS OF THEIR APPROVAL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF THE LISTING, THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ON FBC -2007 CHAPTER 3 GENERAL REGULATIONS - SECTION 304 INSTALLATION #304.1 GENERAL.
