1. Wall Assembly - The 1 or 2 hr fire -rated gypsum wanboard/stud wail assembly shag be constructed
of the materials and in the manner described in the Individual U300 or U400 Series Wan or partition
Designs In the UL Fire Resistance Directory and shall Include the following construction features:
A. Studs - Wan framing may consist of either wood studs or steel channel studs. Wood studs to
consist of nom 2 by 4 In. lumber spaced 16 kit. OC with nom 2 by 4 in. lumber end plates and cross
braces. Steel studs to be min 3 -5/8 In. wide by 1 -3/8 in. deep channels spaced max 24 in OC.
B. Gypsum Board* - Nam 1/2 or 518 In. thick, 4 R wide with square or tapered edges. The gypsum
wallboard type, thickness, number of layers and sheet orientation shall be as specified In the individual
Wall or Partition Design. Diam of circular through opening to be 3/8 in. to 5/8 In. larger than outside
diam of cable or able bundle.
C. Fasteners - When wand stud framing is employed gypsum wallboard layers attached to studs
with cement mated nails as specified In the Individual Wan or Partition Design. When steel channel stud
framing is employed, gypsum wallboard attached to studs with Type S self- driving, self- tapping
bugle -head steel screws as specified in the Individual Wan or Partition Design.
The hourly F Rating of the firestop system is equal to the hourly fire rating of the wall
assembly In which It Is Installed.
2. Cables - Individual cable or max 1 In. diam cable bundle installed in through opening with an
annular space of min 0 In. (point contact) to max 3/4 In. Cable to be rigidly supported on both sides of
wall assembly. The following types and sizes of cables may be used:
A. Max 150 pair No. 24 AWG copper conductor telephone cable with polyvinyl chloride (PVC insulation
and jacket materials. When max 25 pair telephone cable Is used,
• Rating Is 2 hr.When SO to 150 pair telephone cable Is used In 1 hr fire rated wall,
• Rating is 3/4 hr.When SO to 150 pair telephone cable Is used In 2 hr fire rated wall, T

20. THE SYSTEM IS AN EXSTING REMOTE SUPERVISORY SYSTEM
SCOPE OF WORK:
1. PROVIDE & INSTALL FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS.
2. SIGNALING LINE CIRCUIT WIRING SHALL BE STYLE 4.
3. NOTIFICATION APPLIANCE CIRCUIT WIRING SHALL BE STYLE Y.
4. INSTALL IN GROUND FLOOR 7 NEW SMOKE DETECTORS, 5 NEW HORN /STROBES, AND 1 NEW
STROBES ONLY, TO SPARE CIRCUIT iN NAC PANEL. INSTALL IN 3RD FLOOR 4 NEW SMOKE DETECTORS,
2 NEW HORN /STROBES, 1 NEW STROBE, 1 NEW NAC PANEL.
FACP PANEL IS EXISTING.
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION:
UPON ACTIVATION OF ANY MANUAL STATION THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR:
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED,
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM IS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION ViA DACT.
UPON ACTIVATION OF ANY AUTOMATIC DEVICE THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR:
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED.
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM IS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
5. ALL AIR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND FIRE SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
UPON ACTIVATION OF THE ELEVATOR LOBBY SMOKE DETECTORS (WITH THE EXCEPTION
OF THE ELEVATOR LOBBY DETECTOR AT THE PRIMARY LEVEL OF EGRESS),
THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR:
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED.
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM IS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
5. ALL AiR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND FIRE SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
6. ELEVATORS SHALL RECALL TO THE PRIMARY LEVEL OF EGRESS.
7. FIREHAT IN ELEVATOR CAB SHALL ILLUMINATE.
UPON ACTIVATION OF THE ELEVATOR LOBBY SMOKE DETECTOR AT THE PRIMARY LEVEL
OF EGRESS, THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR:
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED.
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM IS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION ViA DACT.
5. ALL AIR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND FIRE SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
6. ELEVATORS SHALL RECALL TO THE ALTERNATE LEVEL OF EGRESS.
7. FIREHAT IN ELEVATOR CAB SHALL ILLUMINATE,
UPON ACTIVATION OF THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM SMOKE DETECTOR, THE FOLLOWING
SHALL OCCUR:
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED.
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM IS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
5. ALL AIR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND FIRE SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
6. ELEVATORS SHALL RECALL TO THE PRIMARY LEVEL OF EGRESS.
7. FIREHAT IN ELEVATOR CAB SHALL BLINK.
UPON ACTIVATION OF THE ELEVATOR TOP OF SHAFT SMOKE DETECTOR, THE FOLLOWING
SHALL OCCUR:
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED.
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM IS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
5. ALL AIR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND FIRE SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
6. ELEVATORS SHALL RECALL TO THE PRIMARY LEVEL OF EGRESS.
7. FIREHAT IN ELEVATOR CAB SHALL BLINK.
UPON ACTIVATION OF A WATERFLOW SWITCH, THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR.
1. ALL HORNS WILL SOUND UNTIL SYSTEM IS SILENCED.
2. ALL STROBES WILL FLASH UNTIL SYSTEM iS RESET.
3. AN ALARM SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
4. A SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
5. ALL AIR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND FIRE SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
UPON ACTIVATION OF A TAMPER SWITCH, THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR.
1. A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR,
2. A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
UPON ACTIVATION OF A DUCT SMOKE DETECTOR, THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR.
1. A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE FACP & REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR.
2. A SUPERVISORY SIGNAL SHALL BE SENT TO THE OWNERS SUPERVISING STATION VIA DACT.
3. THE AIR HANDLER UNIT ASSOCIATED WITH THAT DUCT DETECTOR SHALL SHUT DOWN.
4. ALL AIR HANDLER UNITS SHALL SHUT DOWN AND THE ASSOCIATED FIRE SMOKE
DAMPERS SHALL ACTIVATE.
MASS NOTIFICATION NOTES & SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS '

1. MASS NOTIFICATION SPEAKER WILL NOT WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
