HVAC GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL WORK REFLECTED ON THESE DOCUMENTS ARE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH
2004 EDITION OF FLORIDA BUILDING CODE- RESIDENTIAL. INCLUDING 2006 SUPPLEMENTS
AND ALL APPLICABLE NFPA, ASHRAE STANDARDS & LOCAL ORDINANCES.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH ALL
CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS.
3. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, PERMITS, FEES,
INSPECTIONS, TESTS AND INSURANCE ETC.
4, ALL SUPPLY AND RETURN AIR DUCTWORK INDICATED ON THESE DOCUMENTS SHALL BE
FIBERGLASS DUCT BOARD OR FLEXIBLE INSULATED DUCT WITH CORROSION RESISTANT
REINFORCING WIRE HELIX WITH R -6 INSULATING VALUE WHERE INSTALLED IN ATTIC SPACE.
ALL OTHERS MAY BE FIBERGLASS DUCT BOARD WITH R -5 INSULATING VALUE.
EXHAUST DUCTWORK SHALL BE GALVANIZED SHEET METAL UNLESS OTHERWISE
INDICATED AND BE CONSTRUCTED AND INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH
SMACNA STANDARDS.
5. ALL AR DISTRIBUTION DEVICES SHALL BE AS SCHEDULED.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY SPACE CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS AND
COORDINATE WORK WITH ALL OTHER TRADES PRIOR TO FABRICATION
AND INSTALLATION OF DUCTWORK AND ORDERING EQUIPMENT. THIS
SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
A) COORDINATE THE LOCATION OF THE GRILLES, LOUVERS, WALL AND
ROOF OPENINGS SIZES AND LOCATIONS WITH THE ARCHITECTURAL
TIC STRUCTURAL FEATURES AND ELEMENTS.
B) COORDINATE THE LOCATION OF THE A/C EQUIPMENT AND FANS TO
AVOID INTERFERENCE WITH OTHER TRADES AND THE ARCHITECTURAL AND
STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OF THE BUILDING.
7. ALL DUCT SIZES SHOWN ARE CLEAR INSIDE DIMENSIONS.
8. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS IN DUCTWORK FOR AN AIR
TIGHT SYSTEM.
9. PROVIDE FIRE DAMPERS AT ALL DUCT PENETRATION OF FIRE RATED
BARRIERS PER LOCAL CODES. CEILING FIRE DAMPERS SHALT. BE RADIATION
TYPE, U.L LABEL
10. ALL EXHAUST FAN OUTLETS SHALL MEET ALL SEPARATION REQUIREMENTS
AS SET FORTH IN FLORIDA BUILDING CODE.
11. WHERE DUCTS PASS THROUGH BUILDING STRUCTURE THE OPENING SHALL
BE 1" LARGER IN ALL DIRECTIONS.
12. REFRIGERANT PIPING SHALL BE TYPE 'L' COPPER, INSULATE SUCTION LINE
WITH 3/4" THICK FOAMED PLASTIC INSULATION, 25/50 FLAME SPREAD AND
SMOKE DEVELOPED RATING (MAXIMUM) (R -4),
13. ALL EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR PERIOD OF
ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF ACCEPTANCE. COMPRESSORS SHALL CARRY
5 YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY.
14. ALL OTHER ELEMENTS / COMPONENTS AND PARTS NOT SPECIFICALLY
NOTED HEREIN AND IS REQUIRED AS STANDARD PRACTICE FOR A
COMPLETE WORKING SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED AND INSTALLED AT NO

15. ALL ROOF MOUNTED EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIES, ALONG WITH EQUIPMENT

CODE 1619.2 WIND LOAD REQUIREMENTS.

E. GROUNDING:
1. PROVIDE CONTINUOUS GROUNDING SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH N.E.C. SECTION 250, AND
AS INDICATED. PROVIDE GROUND CONDUCTOR IN ALL RACEWAYS.
F. IF, THROUGH ERRORS OR OMISSIONS, THE INTENT OF ARCHITECT /ENGINEER WITH REGARD TO ANY DETAIL.
IS NOT CLEAR, OR IS CAPABLE OF MORE THAN ONE INTERPRETATION, SUCH MATTERS WILL BE BROUGHT
TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT /ENGINEER IN WRITING BEFORE THE SUBMISSION OF BIDS, AND
