FLAME SPREAD AND SMOKE DEVELOPED RESPECTIVELY.
B. ALL HOT WATER AND TEMPERED WATER LINES SHALL BE INSULATED
WITH 1" FIRE RETARDANT ARMAFLEX INSULATION WITH A MAXIMUM
OF 25150 FLAME SPREAD AND SMOKE DEVELOPED RESPECTIVELY.
6. WATER HAMMER:
THE FLOW VELOCITY OF THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM SHALL BE
CONTROLLED TO REDUCE THE POSSIBILITY OF WATER HAMMER. A
WATER-HAMMER ARRESTOR SHALL BE INSTALLED WHERE
QUICK-CLOSING VALVES ARE UTILIZED. WATER-HAMMER ARRESTORS
SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS
SPECIFICATIONS. WATER-HAMMER ARRESTORS SHALL CONFORM TO
ASSE 1010.
7. ALL VALVES SHALL BE OF THE APPROVED TYPE AND COMPATIBLE WITH
THE TYPE OF PIPING MATERIAL INSTALLED IN THE SYSTEM.
8, LOCATION OF FULL-OPEN VALVES. FULL-OPEN VALVES SHALL BE
INSTALLED IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
1. ON THE BUILDING WATER SERVICE PIPE FROM THE PUBLIC WATER
SUPPLY NEAR THE CURB.
2. ON THE WATER DISTRIBUTION SUPPLY PIPE AT THE ENTRANCE INTO
THE STRUCTURE.
3. ON THE BASE OF EVERY WATER RISER PIPE.
4. ON THE WATER SUPPLY PIPE TO EVERY WATER HEATER.
5. SHUTOFF VALVES SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ON THE WATER SUPPLY PIPE
TO EACH APPLIANCE OR MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT.
9. VALVE IDENTIFICATION.
SERVICE AND HOSE BIBB VALVES SHALL BE IDENTIFIED. ALL OTHER
VALVES INSTALLED IN LOCATIONS THAT ARE NOT ADJACENT TO THE
FIXTURE OR APPLIANCE SHALL BE IDENTIFIED, INDICATING THE
FIXTURE OR APPLIANCE SERVED.
10. JOINTS BETWEEN DIFFERENT MATERIALS.
JOINTS BETWEEN DIFFERENT PIPING MATERIALS SHALL BE MADE WITH
A MECHANICAL JOINT OF THE COMPRESSION OR MECHANICAL-SEALING
TYPE, OR AS PERMITTED IN §P605.22.1 AND §P605.22.2. CONNECTORS
OR ADAPTERS SHALL HAVE AN ELASTOMERIC SEAL CONFORMING TO
ASTM D 1869 OR ASTM F 477, JOINTS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.
11. ESCUTCHEONS:
CHROME PLATED OR STAINLESS STEEL WITH SET SCREWS FOR HOLDING
SECURELY IN PLACE. USE ESCUTCHEONS ON PIPES PASSING THROUGH
WALLS, FLOORS AND CEILINGS OF FINISHED AREAS.
12. THE HOT WATER SUPPLY TO ANY FIXTURE REQUIRING HOT WATER SHALL
BE INSTALLED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FIXTURE.
13. HOSE CONNECTIONS.
SILLCOCKS, HOSE BIBBS, WALL HYDRANTS AND OTHER OPENINGS WITH
A HOSE CONNECTION SHALL BE PROTECTED BY AN ATMOSPHERIC-TYPE
OR PRESSURE-TYPE VACUUM BREAKER OR PERMANENTLY ATTACHED
HOSE CONNECTION VACUUM BREAKER,
DEMOLITION NOTES
1. DEMOLITION • EXISTING PLUMBING WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED AND
COMPLETED UNDER THIS SECTION OF THE WORK.
2. DISCONNECT SOIL, WASTE, VENT HOT AND COLD WATER CONNECTIONS
FROM EXISTING FIXTURES.
3. REMOVE ALL EXISTING PLUMBING EQUIPMENT, FIXTURES, PIPING NOT
REQUIRED, INCLUDING DRAINAGE, WATER, GAS, RAIN WATER LEADERS,
AND SATISFY CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR PROHIBITED DEAD ENDS.
4. CAP EXISTING HOT COLD WATER, WASTE, VENT AND SOIL PIPING AT POINT
THAT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION, I.E. BELOW
FINISHED FLOOR, BEHIND FINISHED WALLS OR ABOVE HUNG CEILINGS.
5. THE WORK SHALL INCLUDE THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, CUT-
I TINGS, EXTENSIONS, CONNECTIONS, REPAIRING, ADAPTING AND OTHER
WORK INCIDENTAL THERETO, TOGETHER WITH SUCH TEMPORARY
CONNECTIONS AS MAY BE REQUIRED.

TYPE, OR AS PERMITTED IN §P605.22.1 AND §P605.22.2. CONNECTORS
OR ADAPTERS SHALL HAVE AN ELASTOMERIC SEAL CONFORMING TO
ASTM D 1869 OR ASTM F 477, JOINTS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.
11. ESCUTCHEONS:
CHROME PLATED OR STAINLESS STEEL WITH SET SCREWS FOR HOLDING
SECURELY IN PLACE. USE ESCUTCHEONS ON PIPES PASSING THROUGH
WALLS, FLOORS AND CEILINGS OF FINISHED AREAS.
12. THE HOT WATER SUPPLY TO ANY FIXTURE REQUIRING HOT WATER SHALL
BE INSTALLED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FIXTURE.
13. HOSE CONNECTIONS.
SILLCOCKS, HOSE BIBBS, WALL HYDRANTS AND OTHER OPENINGS WITH
A HOSE CONNECTION SHALL BE PROTECTED BY AN ATMOSPHERIC-TYPE
OR PRESSURE-TYPE VACUUM BREAKER OR PERMANENTLY ATTACHED
HOSE CONNECTION VACUUM BREAKER,
DEMOLITION NOTES
1. DEMOLITION • EXISTING PLUMBING WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED AND
COMPLETED UNDER THIS SECTION OF THE WORK.
2. DISCONNECT SOIL, WASTE, VENT HOT AND COLD WATER CONNECTIONS
FROM EXISTING FIXTURES.
3. REMOVE ALL EXISTING PLUMBING EQUIPMENT, FIXTURES, PIPING NOT
REQUIRED, INCLUDING DRAINAGE, WATER, GAS, RAIN WATER LEADERS,
AND SATISFY CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR PROHIBITED DEAD ENDS.
4. CAP EXISTING HOT COLD WATER, WASTE, VENT AND SOIL PIPING AT POINT
THAT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION, I.E. BELOW
FINISHED FLOOR, BEHIND FINISHED WALLS OR ABOVE HUNG CEILINGS.
5. THE WORK SHALL INCLUDE THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, CUT-
I TINGS, EXTENSIONS, CONNECTIONS, REPAIRING, ADAPTING AND OTHER
WORK INCIDENTAL THERETO, TOGETHER WITH SUCH TEMPORARY
CONNECTIONS AS MAY BE REQUIRED.
6. EXISTING FIXTURES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT TO BE REMOVED SHALL
