ARCHITECT/ENGINEER FOR CONSIDERATION AND DECISION BEFORE
PROCEEDING.
6. PROVIDE ACCURATE LAYOUT. GRADES AND ELEVATIONS, SET SLEEVES
AND OPENINGS IN AMPLE TIME. TAKE PROPER PRECAUTIONS To
PROTECT WORK AND EQUIPMENT FROM DAMAGE
7. DO ALL TRENCHING. EXCAVATING AND BACKFILLING NECESSARY TO
ACCOMODATE THE WORK UNDER THIS DIVISION. TRENCH WIDTHS To
BE ADEQUATE To PERMIT INSTALLATION ALLOWING A MINIMUM OF 8"
CLEARANCE ON EACH SIDE OF PIPE. BOTTOM OF TRENCH To BE
TAMPERED FIRM AND EVENLY GRADED TO PROVIDE SPECIFIED PITCH.
SHEATH AND BRACE TRENCHES AND EXCAVATIONS. AFTER TESTING
AND INSPECTION. BACKFILL WITH CLEAN EARTH. BACKFILLING AND
REMOVAL OF ANY SHEATHING AND BRACING TO BE DONE WITHOUT
DISTURBING INSTALLED PIPING.
8. EQUIPMENT SCHEDULES ON THE DRAWINGS WERE USED TO ARRIVE AT
SPACE AND SERVICE REQUIREMENTS.
9. ANY SUBSTITUTED EQUIPMENT MUST BE EQUAL IN ALL RESPECTS AND
WILL BE ALLOWED ONLY UPON WRITTEN APPROVAL BY ENGINEER PRIOR
To SUBMISSION OF BIDS.
10. SHOP DRAWINGS To BE SUBMITTED FOR THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
DRAINAGE SPECIALITIES, FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT, PLUMBING
FIXTURES, PRESSURE CONTROL SYSTEMS, VALVES, VIBRATION
ISOLATION EQUIPMENT.
11. DRAWINGS, ARE APPROXIMATE ONLY AND ARE UNDERSTOOD To BE
SUBJECT To SUCH REVISIONS AS MAY PROVE NECESSARY OR
DESIRABLE AT THE TIME THE WORK IS INSTALLED. EACH
CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED To INSTALL HIS WORK WITH
RELATION To EXISTING BUILDING CONDITIONS AND WILL BE

PIPING CAN BE INSTALLED TO BETTER ADVANTAGE IN A DIFFERENT
MANNER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH WORK,
SUBMIT 2 COPIES OF DRAWINGS OF PROPOSED ARRANGEMENT FOR
ENGINEER To REVIEW.
13. IF CONTRACTOR PROPOSED To INSTALL EQUIPMENT. INCLUDING
PIPING REQUIRING SPACE CONDITIONS OTHER THAN THOSE SHOWN, OR
To REARRANGE EQUIPMENTS. HE SHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY
FOR REARRANGEMENT OF SPACE AND SHALL HAVE ARCHITECT REVIEW
CHANGES BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK. REQUEST FOR SUCH
CHANGES SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY SHOP DRAWINGS OF SPACE IN
QUESTION.
14. EACH CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROPER LOCATION AND
SIZE OF SLOTS, HOLES OR OPENINGS IN BUILDING STRUCTURE
PERTAINING To HIS WORK AND FOR CORRECT LOCATION OF PIPE
SLEEVES. AFTER PERFORATION OF ANY SLAB. OR WALL SEAL THE ANNULAR
SPACE WITH THE PROPER FIRE RATED CAULKING MATERIAL SO AS To MANTAIN
THE EXISTING UL LISTED FIRE RATING.
15. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL SO HARMONIZE HIS WORK WITH THAT OF THE
SEVERAL OTHER TRADES SO THAT IT MAY BE INSTLALLED IN A MOST
DIRECT AND WORKMANLIKE MANNER WITHOUT HINDERING OR
HANDICAPPING OTHER TRADES. PIPING INTERFERENCES SHALL BE
HANDLED BY GIVING PRECEDENCE TO PIPELINES WHICH REQUIRE A
STATED GRADE FOR PROPER OPERATION. SEWER LINES SHALL TAKE
PRECEDENCE OVER WATER LINES REQUIRING STATED GRADE FOR THEIR
PROPER OPERATIONS SHALL HAVE PRECEDENCE OVER ELECTRICAL
CONDUIT AND DUCTWORK.
16. FURNISH ARCHFTECT/ENGINEER WITH 2 SETS OF ACCURATELY MARKED
COPIES OF THE DRAWINGS, INDICATING ALL CHANGES FROM
ORIGINALS AS INSTALLED.
17. FURNISH OWNER WITH ALL GUARANTEES FOR EQUIPMENT OR
MATERIALS EXTENDING BEYOND THE GUARANTEE PERIOD
SPECIFIED IN THE GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THESE
SPECIFICATIONS.
18. PLUMBING SYSTEMS SHALL BE PROVIDED COMPLETE. SHOULD A
SYSTEM OR ANY PART THEROF FAIL TO MEET PERFORMANCE
REQUIREMENTS, NECESSARY REPLACEMENTS, ALTERATIONS OR REPAIRS
AS REQUIRED BY THE ARCHITECTURE/ENGINEER. SHALL BE MADE TO
BRING PERFORMANCE UP TO SPECIFIED' REQUIREMENTS AND ALL
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND FINISHES DAMAGED OR MARRED BY SUCH
REPLACEMENTS. ALTERATIONS OR REPAIRS SHALL BE RESTORED TO
PRIOR CONDITION AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO OWNER.
19. PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE IN HIS BID, PROVISION FOR
PROVIDING TEMPORARY WATER FOR USE DURING CONSTRUCTION AS
REQUIRED.
20. SUB-CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES TO THE WORK
OF OTHER SUB-CONTRACTORS, OR TO THE BUILDING, OR TO ITS
CONTENTS, PEOPLE, ETC.; CAUSED BY LEAKS IN ANY OF THE
EQUIPMENT, OR MATERIAL FAILURES. OR DISCONNECTED PIPES.
FITTINGS OR BY OVERFLOWS, AND SHALL MAKE AT HIS OWN EXPENSE,
AU. REPAIRS TO MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SO DAMAGED.
21. ALL WORK, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS SHALL BE PROTECTED AT ALL
TIMES TO PREVENT OBSTRUCTION, DAMAGE. OR BREAKAGE. ALL PIPE
OPENINGS SHALL BE CLOSED WITH CAPS OR PLUGS.
22. PLUMBING FIXTURES SHALL BE TESTED FOR PROPER OPERATION AND
ALL FLUSH VALVES ADJUSTED. MAX. FIXTURE FLOWS TO COMPLY WTIIH
THE PLUMBING FLORIDA CODE TABLE 604.4
23. A CLEANOUT SHALL BE PROVIDED AT THE BASE OF EACH SOIL AND
WASTE PIPE
24. A MINIMUM PITCH OF ALL HORIZONTAL BRANCHES AND SEWER LINES
SHALL BE 1/4- PER UNEAL FOOT FOR 2- AND SMALLER PIPE SIZES
AND 1/8- PER FT. MIN. FOR 3- AND LARGER PIPE SIZES.

26. IN GENERAL ALL WORK OF THIS TRADE MUST COMPLY WITH THE FLORIDA
PLUMBING BUILDING CODE AND ALL OTHER CODES IN EFFECT.
27. PROVIDE SAFEWASTE FOR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT CONDENSATE WITH
TRAP.
28. PROVIDE PAN DRAINS TO BUILDING EXTERIOR 6" ABOVE GRADE
TURNED DOWN (EACH SEPARATELY).
29. ALL HOSE BIBBS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH VACUUM BREAKERS
(WATTS SA) AND SHUT OFF VALVE.
30. ALL OUTSIDE CLEANOUT SHALL BE BROUGHT TO GRADE WITH COVER.

33. INSULATE ALL HOT & COLD WATER CONNECTIONS AT WATER HEATERS
AND UP To 8 Fr. THEREAFTER WITH 1 IN. THICK SELF-SEAUNG
TYPE INSULATION (R-4.2 MIN.)
34. APPLY A WATER PRESSURE TEST TO ALL PARTS OF THE WATER
SUPPLY AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS BEFORE THE PIPING IS CONCEALED
AND BEFORE THE FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT ARE CONNECTED.
FOR THE WATER SYSTEM USE A HYDRO-STATIC PRESSURE OF NOT LESS
THAN 150 PSIG OR 1.25 TIMES THE SYSTEM WORKING PRESSURE.
APPUED TO THE SYSTEM FOR A PERIOD OF 4 HOURS. THERE SHALL
BE NO LEAKS AT ANY POINT IN THE SYSTEM AT THIS PRESSURE.
FOR THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM USE NOT LESS THAN 10 FT. OF
HYDROSTATIC HEAD. LEAVE THE WATER IN THE SYSTEM FOR NOT LESS
THAN 30 MINUTES, AFTER WHICH TIME NO LEAKS AT ANY POINT OR
LOWERING OF THE WATER LEVEL AT THE OVERFLOW SHALL BE
VISIBLE. LEAVE CONCEALED WORK UNCOVERED UNTIL REQUIRE TESTS
HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. MAKE REPAIRS OF DEFECTS THAT ARE
DISCOVERED WITH NEW MATERIALS. CAULKING OF SCREW JOINTS.
CRACKS OR HOLES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. REPEAT TESTS AFTER
DEFECTS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED.
