A. DRAWINGS
1. THE DRAWINGS ARE TO BE CONSIDERED DIAGRAMMATIC, NOT NECESSARILY SHOWING IN DETAIL OR
TO SCALE ALL OF THE MINOR ITEMS. UNLESS SPECIFIC DIMENSIONS ARE SHOWN, THE
STRUCTURAL, ARCHITECTURAL, AND SITE CONDITIONS SHALL GOVERN THE EXACT LOCATIONS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOW DRAWINGS IN LAYING OUT WORK. WHERE HEADROOM OR SPACE
CONDITIONS APPEAR INADEQUATE, CONTRACTOR SHALL, WITHOUT EXTRA CHARGE, MAKE FIELD
MODIFICATION IN LAYOUT AS NEEDED FOR PROPER EXECUTION OF THE WORK. SITE CONDITIONS
SHALL GOVERN THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, WIRING, CONDUIT,
ETC. WITH PRIOR APPROVAL BY DESIGN TEAM.

FOR THE SOLE USE OF MARKING AS -BUILT DATA. ALL CHANGES SHALL BE MARKED IN RED ON
THESE PRINTS AS WORK PROGRESSES.
3. PRIOR TO EACH REQUISITION FOR PAYMENT, AS -BUILT PRINTS SHALL BE BROUGHT UP TO DATE
FOR ACCEPTANCE BY OWNER'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE (OAR).
4. THE COMPLETED SET OF AS -BUILT PRINTS SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE OWNER PRIOR TO FINAL
PAYMENT FOR INCORPORATION ONTO ORIGINALS.
5. RISERS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC AND DON'T INTEND TO SHOW EVERY BEND REQUIRED FOR THE
INSTALLATION.
B. CODES
1. INSTALLATION SHALL COMPLY WITH THE MOST STRINGENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE FOLLOWING
CODES WHERE APPLICABLE TO THE WORK SHOWN ON THE DOCUMENTS OF THIS PROJECT:
a. 2008 NFPA 70 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE.
b. 2010 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE
c. 2009 NFPA 70E STANDARD FOR SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE RECORD DRAWINGS TO OWNER WITHIN 30 DAYS OF DATE OF SYSTEM
ACCEPTANCE PER 2004 FBC CH 13, 13- 413.ABC.2.1
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE OWNER WITH OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS PER FBC CH
13, 13- 413.ABC.2.2
C. COORDINATION
1. CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO FURNISH, INSTALL, AND /OR CONNECT WITH APPROPRIATE
SERVICES ALL ELECTRICAL ITEMS.
2. COORDINATE INSTALLATION:
a. TO ALLOW MAXIMUM POSSIBLE HEADROOM UNLESS SPECIFIC MOUNTING HEIGHTS THAT REDUCE
HEADROOM ARE INDICATED.
b. TO PROVIDE FOR EASE OF DISCONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT WITH MINIMUM INTERFERENCE TO
OTHER INSTALLATIONS.
c. TO ALLOW RIGHT OF WAY FOR PIPING AND CONDUIT INSTALLED AT REQUIRED SLOPE. SO
CONNECTING RACEWAYS, CABLES, WIREWAYS, CABLE TRAYS, AND BUSWAYS WILL BE CLEAR OF
OBSTRUCTIONS AND OF THE WORKING AND ACCESS SPACE OF OTHER EQUIPMENT.
d. COORDINATE INSTALLATION OF REQUIRED SUPPORTING DEVICES AND SET SLEEVES IN
CAST -IN -PLACE CONCRETE, MASONRY WALLS, AND OTHER STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS AS THEY
ARE CONSTRUCTED. INSTALL TO FACILITATE SERVICE, MAINTENANCE, AND REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT OF COMPONENTS OF BOTH ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND OTHER NEARBY
INSTALLATIONS.
e. CONNECT IN SUCH A WAY AS TO FACILITATE FUTURE DISCONNECTING WITH MINIMUM
INTERFERENCE WITH OTHER ITEMS IN THE VICINITY.
3. DO NOT INTERRUPT ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO FACILITIES OCCUPIED BY OWNER WITHOUT OWNER'S

A. GENERAL
1. ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, DEVICES, AND ACCESSORIES SHALL BE LISTED AND LABELED AS
DEFINED IN NFPA 70, ARTICLE 100, BY A TESTING AGENCY ACCEPTABLE TO AUTHORITIES HAVING
JURISDICTION, AND MARKED FOR INTENDED USE.
ROUTING OF RACEWAYS, INTERCONNECTING OUTLETS AND HOME -RUNS IS UP TO THE ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR UNLESS SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION IS PROVIDED ON THE DRAWINGS. AFTER COMPLETION
OF THE INSTALLATION, CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE OWNER AS -BUILT DRAWINGS OF THE
WORK FOR FUTURE RECORD. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE IN CONDUIT. COMPLETE RACEWAY
INSTALLATION BEFORE STARTING CONDUCTOR INSTALLATION.
B. RACEWAYS AND CABLE SUPPORTS
1. INSTALL NO MORE THAN THE EQUIVALENT OF THREE 90- DEGREE BENDS IN ANY CONDUIT RUN
EXCEPT FOR COMMUNICATIONS CONDUITS, FOR WHICH TWO BENDS ARE ALLOWED.
2. CONDUIT INSTALLATION IN FINISHED AREAS SHALL BE CONCEALED UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED.
CONCEAL ALL CONDUITS IN WALLS, ABOVE CEILINGS, IN OR UNDER SLABS OR IN FURRING,
EXCEPT IN ELECTRICAL ROOMS.
3. INSTALL EXPOSED CONDUIT PARALLEL WITH OR AT RIGHT ANGLES TO THE BUILDING LINES.
CONDUIT IN CONCRETE MEMBERS AND SLABS SHALL BE LOCATED SO AS NOT TO AFFECT THEIR
STRUCTURAL STRENGTH.
4. USE EMT FOR INTERIOR CONCEALED WIRING AND ELSEWHERE AS PERMITTED BY THE NEC.
5. SECTIONS OF METALLIC CONDUIT SYSTEM SHALL BE GROUNDED AND ELECTRICALLY CONTINUOUS.
6. ROUTE RACEWAYS TO AVOID CONFLICTS WITH THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES. KEEP RACEWAYS AT
LEAST 6" AWAY FROM PARALLEL RUNS OF FLUES AND STEAM OR HOT -WATER PIPES.
7. ALUMINUM CONDUIT WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.
