TOGETHER WITH DETAILS FOR DUST AND NOISE PROTECTION.
3. PROTECTION: PROVIDE TEMPORARY BARRICADES AND OTHER FORMS OF PROTECTION REQUIRED TO
PROTECTS OWNER'S PERSONNEL AND GENERAL PUBLIC FROM INJURY DUE TO DEMOLITION WORK.
A. PROVIDE PROTECTIVE MEASURES AS REQUIREED TO PROVIDE FREE AND SAFE PASSAGE OF OWNER'S
PERSONNEL AND GENERAL PUBLIC TO AND FROM OCCUPIED PORTIONS OF BUILDING.
B. PROTECT FROM DAMAGE EXISTING FINISH WORK THAT IS TO REMAIN IN PLACE AND BECOMES EXPOSED
DURING DEMOLITION OPERATIONS.
4. DAMAGES: PROMPTLY REPAIR DAMAGES CAUSED TO ADJACENT FACILITIES BY DEMOLITION WORK AT NO
COST TO OWNER.
5. UTILITY SERVICES: MAINTAIN EXISTING UTILITIES INDICATED TO REMAIN, KEEP IN SERVICE, AND PROTECT
AGAINST DAMAGE DURING DEMOLITION OPERATIONS. DO NOT INTERRUPT EXISTING UTILITIES SERVING
OCCUPIED PORTION OF BUILDING, EXCEPT WHEN AUTHORIZED IN WRITING BY AUTHORITIES HAVING
JURISDICTION. PROVIDE TEMPORARY SERVICES DURING INTERRUPTIONS TO EXISTING UTILITIES,
AS ACCEPTABLE TO GOVERNING AUTHORITIES
6. PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF ELECTIVE DEMOLITION WORK, INSPECT AREAS IN WHICH WORK WIL BE
PERFORMED. DOCUMENT EXISTING CONDITIONS TO STRUCTURE SURFACES, EQUIPMENT AND TO
SURROUNDING PROPERTIES WHICH WILL BE MISCONSTRUED AS DAMAGE RESULTING FROM SELECTIVE
DEMOLITION WORK FILE WITH OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE IMMEDIATELY IF SAFETY OF STRUCTURE
7. CEASE OPERATIONS AND NOTIFY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE IMMEDIATELY IF SAFETY OF STRUCTURE
APPEARS TO BE ENDANGERED.
8. PROVIDE SELECTIVE DEMOLITION WORK IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER. USE SUCH METHODS AS REQUIRED TO
COMPLETE WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH DEMOLITION SCHEDULE AND GOVERNING WORK IN ACCORDANCE
WITH DEMOLITION SCHEDULE AND GOVERNING REGULATIONS.
9. SALVAGE ITEMS: AT THE OPTION OF THE OWNER AND AS SELECTED AND DIRECTED BY THE OWNER, OV
"SALVAGE - DELIVER TO OWNER," CAREFULLY REMOVE INDICATED ITEMS, CLEAN, STORE AND TURN ER TO
OWNER AND OBTAIN RECEIPT.
10. IF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ARE ENCOUNTERED DURING DEMOLITION OPERATIONS, COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE
REGULATIONS, LAWS AND ORDINANCES CONCERNING REMOVAL, HANDLING AND PROTECTION AGAINST EXPOSURE
OR ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTING. BURNING OF REMOVED MATERIALS IS NOT PERMITTED ON PROJECT SITE.
11. UPON COMPLETION OF DEMOLITION WORK, REMOVE TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND DEMOLISHED MATERIALS FROM SITE.
REMOVE PROTECTION AND LEAVE INTERIOR AREAS BROOM CLEAN AS REQUIRED.
12. REPAIR DEMOLITION PERFORMED IN EXCESS OF THAT REQUIRED. RETURN STRUCTURES AN SURFACES TO REMAIN
TO CONDITION EXISTING PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF SELECTIVE DEMOLITION WORK. REPAIR ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION
R SURFACES SOILED OR DAMAGED BY SELECTIVE DEMOLITION WORK.

14. CONTRACTOR SHALL SCRAPE AT SLAB AS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE ACCEPTABLE SURFACE FOR

PLUMBING DEMOLITION NOTES
1. PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM A FIELD VERIFICATION PRIOR TO BIDDING THIS PROJECT.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE EXACT LOCATION OF EXISTING PIPES BEFORE COMMENCING TO WORK AND
WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION HIS DEMOLITION WORK WITH OTHER TRADES.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:
A. REMOVE OR DIVERT ALL EXPOSED PIPING AS REQUIRED
B. CAP UNUSED SANITARY WASTE BELOW FINISHED FLOOR AND REMOVE OR ABANDON ABOVE.
C. CAP UNUSED VENT PIPE MAIN RISER AND REMOVE OR ABANDON EXISTING AS REQUIRED.
D. REMOVE EXISTING FIXTURES WITH TRIMS AND ASSOCIATED PIPING - REMOVE AND /OR ABANDON UNUSED
WATER SERVICE AND CAP DOWNSTREAM FROM DISTRIBUTION LINE.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL RECONNECT ANY EXISTING SERVICE, WHICH HAS BEEN DIVERTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
STATE AND LOCAL CODES AND ORDINANCES.
5. EXISTING PIPES SERVING ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS CONTRACT BUT IN SERVICE AT THIS TIME SHALL NOT BE
INTERRUPTED EXCEPT AS A TEMPORARY INTERRUPTION COORDINATED WITH THE OWNER.
6. PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL PAY ALL FEES, INSPECTIONS AND CONNECTION CHARGES REQUIRED.
Electrical Demolition Notes
1. REMOVE EXISTING RECEPTACLES, TELEPHONE, SWITCHES AND AL ELECTRICAL DEVICES IN WALLS TO BE
DEMOLISHED. RELOCATE ANY OF THESE DEVICES, AS INDICATED , OR REQUIRED. CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED
TO VISIT SITE AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO DETERMINING THE WORK
THAT NEEDS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED AS PART OF HIS/HER BID.
2. THE WORK SHALL INCLUDE THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, CUTTING, EXTENDING, CONNECTING,
REPAIRING, ADAPTING, AND OTHER WORK COINCIDENTAL HERETO.TOGETHER WITH SUCH TEMPORARY
INSTALLATIONS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO SATISFY THE DEMOLITION PROGRAM APPROVAL SHALL BE
SECURED FROM THE LANDLORD /ARCHITECT PRIOR TO CUTTING /DRILLING ANY STRUCTURAL SUPPORT.
3. ALL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AFFECTED BY THE REMOVAL, RELOCATION INSTALLATIONS OF ANY PIECE OF
EQUIPMENT SHALL BE REPAIRED FINISHED AS REQUIRED TO MATCH EXISTING CONDITIONS OR AS DIRECTED
BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
4. WHEN ELECTRICAL DEVICES ARE INSTALLED IN PARTITION OR CEILINGS TO BE REMOVED. THE ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR SHALL DISCONNECT THEM UP TO THE NEXT OUTLET TO REMAIN OR BACK TO THE PANEL
BOARD. IF EXISTING TO REMAIN OUTLETS ARE FED THROUGH DEMOLISHED PARTITIONS OR CEILING, THE
CIRCUIT SHALL BE ARRANGED TO MAINTAIN CIRCUIT CONTINUITY. WIRE SHALL BE REMOVED BACK TO
SOURCE FROM INACCESSIBLE RACEWAYS, NOT REUSED. INSTALL BLANK PLATES ON FLUSH OUTLETS NOT
REUSED.
5. ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM STRUCTURE TO BE REMOVED. ACCESSIBLE
RACEWAYS, WIRES, BOXES, SWITCHES, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL ITEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS WORK SHALL
BE REMOVED IF NOT REQUIRED TO CONTINUE IN SERVICE.
6. ALL MATERIAL SHALL BE DISPOSED OF AS DIRECTED BY OWNER.
MECHANICAL DEMOLITION NOTES
1. ALL EQUIPMENT IN SERVICEABLE CONDITIONS REMOVED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE PROTECTED AND
STORED AT THE JOB SITE FOR DELIVERY BY THE CONTRACTOR TO A LOCATION DESIGNATED BY THE OWNER.
ALL OTHER INCLUDING SPACE HEATING, HOT WATER PIPING SYSTEM AND ACCESSORIES SHALL BE
PHYSICALLY REMOVED AND DISPOSED OF BY CONTRACTOR. CONTRACTOR SHOULD COORDINATE WITH
OWNER FOR FINAL ARRANGEMENTS.
2. ANY EQUIPMENT OR DEVICE TO REMAIN THAT MIGHT HAVE TO BE DISCONTINUED BECAUSE OF ANY OTHER
DEVICE MUST BE RECONNECTED AND TIED BACK TO THE EXISTING BUILDING SYSTEMS AND TESTED FOR
CORRECT OPERATION.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT ALL EXISTING DUCTWORK TO BE REUSED AND MAKE ANY NECESSARY REPAIRS
TO ENSURE AN AIRTIGHT SYSTEM. AIR LEAKAGE RATES SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE CONTRACT
SPECIFICATIONS. DUCTWORK INSULATION SHALL BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IN AREAS WHERE THE
INSTALLATION IS DETERIORATED, DAMAGED, OR NOT CONTINUOUS TO ENSURE THAT SWEATING DOES NOT
OCCUR. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS.
INSPECT AND /OR REPAIR DUCT SUPPORTS TO ENSURE SECURE MOUNTING OF THE DUCT SYSTEM.
4. INTERRUPTION OF EXISTING FACILITIES AND /OR SERVICES SHALL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM AND THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL MATERIALS REQUIRED WHENEVER TEMPORARY CONNECTIONS ARE
