1. DESCRIPTION
Viking Micromatict, and MicromatioHP" Standard Response Pendent Sprinklers
are small, thermosensitive, glass -bulb spray sprinklers available in several differ-
ent finishes, temperature ratings, and K- Factors to meet design requirements. The
special Polyester, Potytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and Electroless Nickel PTFE
(ENT) coatings can be used in decorative applications where colors are desired. In
addition, these coatings have been investigated for installation in corrosive atmos-
pheres and are listedlapproved as corrosion resistant as indicated in the Approval
Charts. (Notes FM Global approved the ENT coating as corrosion resistant_ FM
Global has no approval classification for PTFE and Polyester coatings as corrosion
resistant.)
Viking standard response sprinklers may be ordered and/or used as open sprinklers
(glass bulb and pip cap assembly removed) on deluge systems. Refer to Ordering

The recessed version of the Series
TY-B Pendent Sprinkler, where appli-
cable, is intended for use in areas with a
finished ceiling, This recessed pendent
sprinkler uses one of the following:
• A two -piece Style 15 Recessed
Escutcheon with recessed adjust-
ment up to 5/8 inch (15,9 mm) from
the flush pendent position.
• A two -piece Style 20 Recessed
Escutcheon with recessed adjust-
ment up to 1/2 inch (12,7 mm) from

The recessed version of the Series
TY-B Pendent Sprinkler, where appli-
cable, is intended for use in areas with a
finished ceiling, This recessed pendent
sprinkler uses one of the following:
• A two -piece Style 15 Recessed
Escutcheon with recessed adjust-
ment up to 5/8 inch (15,9 mm) from
the flush pendent position.
• A two -piece Style 20 Recessed
Escutcheon with recessed adjust-
ment up to 1/2 inch (12,7 mm) from
the flush pendent position:
The adjustment provided by the
Recessed Escutcheon reducee4. the
accuracy to which tie foxed pipe drops
to the sprinklers must be cut.
