HANDRAILS CAN PROJECT UP TO 41h INCHES (114 MM) FROM THE WALL. 1003.4 FLOOR SURFACE, WALKING SURFACES SHALL BE SLIP RESISTANT UNDER FORESEFABLE CONDITIONS. THE WALKING SURFACE OF EACH ELEMENT IN THE MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL BE UNIFORMLY SLIP RESISTANT ALONG THE NATURAL PATH OF TRAVEL. 1006.1 .2 ILLUMINATION OF MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS DURING THE TIME THAT THE CONDITIONS OF OCCUPANCY REQUIRE THAT THE MEANS OF EGRESS BE AVAILABLE FOR USE. ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING SHALL BE EMPLOYED AT SUCH PLACES AND FOR SUCH PERIODS OF TIME AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE ILLUMINATION TO THE MINIMUM CRITERIA VALUES HEREIN SPECIFIED. 1006.1 .3 THE FLOORS AND OTHER WALKING SURFACES WITHIN AN EXIT AND WITHIN THE PORTIONS OF THE EXIT ACCESS AND EXIT DISCHARGE DESIGNATED IN SECTION SHALL BE ILLUMINATED TO VALUES OF AT LEAST 1 FOOTCANDLE (10 LUX) MEASURED AT THE FLOOR. DURING CONDITIONS OF STAIR USE, THE MINIMUM ILLUMINATION FOR NEW STAIRS SHALL BE AT LEAST 108 LUX (10 FOOT- CANDLE), MEASURED AT THE WALKING SURFACE. GENERAL NOTES 1. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO VISIT THE SITE AND VERIFY ALL EXISTING BUILDING AND SITE CONDITIONS. SHOULD ANY DISCREPANCIES BE ENCOUNTERED, THE ARCHITECT /ENGINEER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IN WRITING 7 DAYS PRIOR TO SUBMITTING HIS BID. 2. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE ALL THE SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS REQUIRED TO PROPERLY INSTALL, SUPPORT, BRACE AND SHORE ALL BUILDING COMPONENTS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT. 5. THE CONTRACTOR COORDINATE AND SCHEDULE THE WORK OF ALL TRADES TO INSURE THE WORK IS COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER, COMPLYING WITH THE OWNER /CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT, 6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AN ON SITE DUMPSTER IN A LOCATION APPROVED BY THE OWNER FOR THE DISPOSAL OF REMOVED MATERIAL. THE DUMPSTER SHALL BE EMPTIED AT APPROPRIATE INTERVALS TO PREVENT OVERFLOW AND UNSIGHTLY CONDITIONS, 7. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A SCHEDULE FOR DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES AND OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE FOR REVIEW AND ACCEPTANCE BY THE ARCHITECT /ENGINEER. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT /ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY IF ANY DISCREPANCIES ARE ENCOUNTERED BETWEEN THE DRAWINGS AND THE FIELD CONDITIONS, ANY DISCREPANCIEL SHALL BE RESOLVED BY ARCHITECT /ENGINEER PRIOR T PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK. 9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION OF HIS WORK, INCLUDING, BUT NO LIMITED TO VANDALISM, THEFT, ETC. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE ARCHITECT WITH RED -LINED AS -BUILT DRAWINGS FOR ANY AND ALL FIELD CHANGES AND /OR ADDITIONS TO THE WORK INCLUDED IN THE DRAWINGS. 11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AN ITLMIZED COST BREAKDOWN OF ALL ITEMS AND PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION. 12. THE ARCHITECT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, SEQUENCES, PROCEDURES OR FOR PRECAUTIONS AND PROGRAMS RELATED TO THE PROJECT'S CONSTRUCTION. 13, ALL WOOD IN CONTACT WITH CONCRETE SHALL BE PRESSURE TREATED, ALL HEADERS ARE DOUBLE MEMBERS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. 14. IT IS NOT THE INTENT OF THESE PLANS TO SHOW EVERY MINOR DETAIL OF CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR ES EXPECTED TO FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL ITEMS TO COMPLETE ALL BUILDING SYSTEMS AND PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY APPURTENENCES FOR EQUIPMENT TO BE PLACED IN PROPER WORKING ORDER. 15. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT PRODUCT CONTROL APPROVAL DATA FOR ALL PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS THAT FALL UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY BUILDING AND ZONING PRODUCT CONTROL DEPARTMENT. 16. ALL WORK TO BE TRUE TO LINE, PLUM AND SQUARE AND ADEQUATELY SUPPORTED. FILL ALL VOIDS BETWEEN COMPONENTS, ALL ITEMS THAT DO NOT MEET THE ARCHITECTS SATISFACTION AS TO GOOD TRADE PRACTICES AND QUALITY WORKMANSHIP WILL BE REPLACED AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. 17. ALL DESIGN LOADS ARE TO BE AT MINIMUM PER S.FB.C. AND AS OTHERWISE INDICATED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. 18, CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN SITE SAFE AND CLEAR OF DEBRIS. ALL CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS IS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE WORK AREAS DAILY AND FROM THE SITE AT PROPER INTERVALS. 19. GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ALL SUB - CONTRACTORS TO GUARANTEE THEIR WORK FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF ONE YEAR IN WRITING. 20. SOUND LEVELS FOR ALARM SIGNALS SHALL NOT EXCEED 120 DBA. 11-4.25.3 VISUAL ALARMS. VISUAL ALARM SIGNAL APPLIANCES SHALL BE INTEGRATED INTO THE BUILDING OR FACILITY ALARM SYSTEM. IF SINGLE STATION AUDIBLE ALARMS ARE PROVIDED THEN SINGLE STATION VISUAL ALARM SIGNALS SHALL BE PROVIDED. VISUAL ALARM SIGNALS SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM PHOTOMETRIC AND LOCATION FEATURES: (1) THE LAMP SHALL BE A XENON STROBE TYPE OR EQUIVALENT. (2) THE COLOR SHALL BE CLEAR OR NOMINAL WHITE (I,E., UNFILTERED OR CLEAR FILTERED WHITE LIGHT). (3) THE MAXIMUM PULSE DURATION SHALL BE TWO- TENTHS OF ONE SECOND (0.2 SEC) WITH A MAXIMUM DUTY CYCLE OF 40 PERCENT. THE PULSE DURATION IS DEFINED AS THE TIME INTERVAL BETWEEN INITIAL AND FINAL POINTS OF 10 PERCENT OF MAXIMUM SIGNAL. (4) THE INTENSITY SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 75 CANDELA. (5) THE FLASH RATE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 1 HZ AND A MAXIMUM OF 3 HZ. (6) - THE APPLIANCE SHALL BE PLACED 80 INCHES (2030 MM) ABOVE THE HIGHEST FLOOR LEVEL WITHIN THE SPACE OR 6 INCHES (152 MM) BELOW THE CEILING, WHICHEVER IS LOWER. (7) IN GENERAL, NO PLACE IN ANY ROOM OR SPACE REQUIRED TO HAVE A VISUAL SIGNAL APPLIANCE SHALL BE MORE THAN 50 FEET (15 M) FROM THE SIGNAL (IN THE HORIZONTAL PLANE). IN LARGE ROOMS AND SPACES EXCEEDING 100 FEET (30 M) ACROSS, WITHOUT OBSTRUCTIONS 6 FEET (2 M) ABOVE THE FINISH FLOOR, SUCH AS AUDITORIUMS, DEVICES MAY BE PLACED AROUND THE PERIMETER, SPACED A MAXIMUM 100 FEET (30 M) APART, IN LIEU OF SUSPENDING APPLIANCES FROM THE CEILING. (8) NO PLACE IN COMMON CORRIDORS OR HALLWAYS IN WHICH VISUAL ALARM SIGNALING APPLIANCES ARE REQUIRED SHALL BE MORE THAN 50 FEET (15 M) FROM THE SIGNAL.
