14-235-001FIRE ALARM NOTES 1. THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS DESIGNED FOR NEW BUILDING AT 8575 NW 186TH ST MIAMI FL 33105 . IT IS A SCHEMATIC DESIGN AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A COMPLETE DESIGN AS REQUIRED AND SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS TO APPROVE FOR INSTALLATION. 2. ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE NEW AND U.L. LISTED. 3. THE DESIGN INSTALLATION OF THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL ALSO COMPLY WITH THE NFPA -10 NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE (NEC) AND THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE (FBC) 11 -4283 V2001 EDITION. THE INSTALLATION SHALL ALSO COMPLY WITH NFPA -101 AND NFPA -72. 4. ALL WIRING TO CONFORM TO NFPA -70 ARTICLE 760. 5. ALL FIRE PENETRATIONS SHALL BE SEALED WITH U.L. APPROVED FIRE STOP MATERIALS. (SEE FIRE PENETRATION DETAIL). 6. MANUAL STATIONS TO BE INSTALLED AT 48' AFF /NOTIFICATION DEVICES AT 80' AFF FROM FLOOR TO BOTTOM OF APPLIANCES. 7. FIRE IAAARM SYSTEM SHALL BE SILENT KNIGHT (PANEL INTELLKNIGHT 5700) (OR EQUIVALENT). 8. FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT TO BE CLASS "B" FOR INITIATION AND CLASS "B" STYLE 4 FOR NOTIFICATION REPORTS. 9. ALL FIRE ALRM EQUIPMENT FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL RATED "POWER LIMITED ". 10. FIRE ALAM PANEL (SEE CONTRACTOR SHOP DRAWINGS). 11. SECURITY SYSTEM BY OTHER SHALL BE TIED INTO F/A AND SHALL OPEN UPON ALARM OR LOSS OF PRIMARY POWER. (IF APPLICABLE). 12. FIRE ALARM IS PROVIDED WITH 24 HOURS STANDBY AND 5 MINUTES IN ALARM BATTERY. 13. FACP TO BE ON DEDICATED CIRCUIT 120 V, AND MARKED RED FIRE ALARM. 14. ALL CONTROL RELAY TO BE WITHIN 3 FEET OF DEVICE BEING CONTROLLED. 15. MINIMUM CONDUIT SIZES 1/2" WITH 40 % %% FILL AS PER NEC 70. 16. ALL NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES TO ACTIVATE UPON ALARM. 17. SYSTEM TO BE REMOTE ALARM TYPE. 18. SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO COMPLY WITH NFPA 101 CHAPTER 31 EXISTING APARTMENT BUILDING OCCUPANCY. 19. FACP. IS LOCATED AT MAIN ENTRANCE, THIS BUILDING HAS NOT REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR. 20. THE SYSTEM SHALL HAVE BATTERY BACK -UP FOR 24 HOURS IN THE SUPERVISORY MODE AND 5 MINUTES MINIMUM IN ALARM. 21 F.A. SYSTEM TO BE PROVIDED WITH EMERGENCY FORCES NOTIFICATION NFPA 101 - 16.3.4.4 AND 9.6.4 1. ACTIVATION OF ANY MANUAL INITIATION DEVICE WITHIN THE SYSTEM SHALL CAUSE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS AND INDICATIONS: A) ACTIVATE THE NOTIFICATION CIRCUITS WITH THE EVACUATION TONE AND THE VISUAL SIGNALS (BUILDING AUDIBLE AND VISUAL NOTIFICATION). STATION (CONTINUOSLY ATTENDED CENTRAL STATION) C) DISPLAY A CUSTOM MESSAGE DESCRIBING THE LOCATION, TIME, AND DATE OF THE DEVICE INITIATING THE EVENT (IDENTIFICATION), D) SHUT DOWN ALL AIR CONDITIONING UNITS WITHIN THE PROTECTED SPACE, IF ANY. 2. B) ACTIVATE THE CORRESPONDING ALARM LIGHT AND SOUNDER IN A DISTINCTIVE MODE AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND ANNUNCIATORS, IF ANY. C) SOUND HORN /STROBE IN A DISTINCTIVE MODE WITHIN THE PROTECTED SPACE. D) NOTIFY SECOND ALARM TO REMOTE U.L. STATION (CONTINUOSLY ATTENDED CENTRAL STATION). 4.
