HANGERS AND SUPPORTS
A. PROVIDE ADJUSTABLE HANGERS, INSERTS, BRACKETS, ROLLS, TRAPEZE, CLAMPS AND
SUPPLEMENTARY STEEL AS REQUIRED FOR PROPER SUPPORT OF PIPE LINES.
B. HANGERS SHALL ALLOW FOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION OF PIPE LINES AND OF
ADEQUATE SIZE TO PERMIT COVERING TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY THROUGH HANGERS.
C. COORDINATE LOCATION OF HANGERS WITH OTHER TRADES.
D. HANGERS SHALL BE PLACED WITHIN 18 INCHES OF HUB OR JOINT FOR HORIZONTAL CAST

4. GLASS CLOTH JACKET: FACTORY SIZED WHITE, STANDARD WEIGHT, WITH 1-1/2 INCH

7. CONDENSATE DRAINING, DRINKING FOUNTAIN AND ELECTRIC WATER COOLER DRAINS:
ELASTOMERIC (FOAM PLASTIC) THERMAL INSULATION 1/2 INCH THICK WITH BUILT -IN VAPOR
BARRIER RATED SELF - EXTINGUISHING. INSULATION SHALL HAVE A MAXIMUM THERMAL
CONDUCTIVITY OF 0.26K FACTOR AT 70 DEGREES F. MEAN TEMPERATURE, DENSITY OF 5 -6
POUNDS PER CUBIC FOOT AND A WATER VAPOR TRANSMISSION OF 0.1 PERMS.
TESTING
1. COMPLETE WATER PIPING SYSTEM SHALL BE PRESSURE TESTED BY CAPPING OR PLUGGING
OPENINGS, FILLING SYSTEM WITH WATER AND APPLYING HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE OF 125 PSI
FOR PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN 2 HOURS.
2. SOIL, WASTE AND VENT PIPING SHALL BE TESTED BY CAPPING THE ENDS OF THE SYSTEM
AND ALL LINES FILLED WITH WATER TO HIGHEST POINT AND ALLOW TO STAND UNTIL
INSPECTION IS MADE AND WATER LEVEL REMAINS CONSTANT.
STERILIZATION
A. AFTER WATER PIPING HAS BEEN THOROUGHLY FLUSHED OUT, STERILIZE THE LINES BY
INTRODUCING INTO THEM A SOLUTION OF CALCIUM HYPOCHLORITE OR CHLORIDE OF LIME.
OPEN AND CLOSE ALL VALVES WHILE SYSTEM IS BEING CHLORINATED. AFTER THE
STERILIZING AGENT HAS BEEN APPLIED FOR 24 HOURS, TEST FOR RESIDUAL CHLORINE AT
THE ENDS OF THE LINES. IF LESS THAN 5 PARTS PER MILLION IS INDICATED, REPEAT THE
PROCESS. WHEN THE TESTS SHOW AT LEAST 5 PARTS PER MILLION OF RESIDUAL CHLORINE,
FLUSH OUT THE SYSTEM UNTIL ALL TRACES OF THE CHEMICAL USED ARE REMOVED. MAKE
NECESSARY CONNECTIONS TO STERILIZE PIPING,
FIXTURES
A. STOPS SHALL BE PROVIDED AT ALL PLUMBING FIXTURES.
B. PLUMBING FIXTURES SHALL COMPLY WITH WATER CONSERVATION FS.553.14 .
C. PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL CONNECT WATER AND WASTE TO EQUIPMENT FURNISHED
UNDER THER DIVISIONS OF THIS SPECIFICATION AND AS REQUIRED FOR COMPLETE
OPERATION.
D. CONTRACTOR SHALL GUARANTEE ALL WORK FREE FROM DEFECTS OF WORKMANSHIP AND/
OR MATERIALS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF ACCEPTANCE.

A. TANK SHALL BE REINFORCED CONCRETE 3000 PSI IN ACCORDANCE WITH DIVISION 3
