Ord No 22-15-2229ORDINANCE NO.22-15-2229 An Ordinance of the Cityof South Miami,located in Miami-Dade County,Florida ("City"),approving a tentative millage rate of the Cityfor the fiscal year commencing October 1,2015,through September 30,2016 which amount may be amended at the first or second reading,and approving and enacting the final millage rate of the Cityon second reading. WHEREAS,pursuant to section 200.065,Florida Statutes,tax assessments forallreal property within the jurisdiction of the Cityof South Miamifor the fiscal year 2015/2016 has been made by the property appraiser for Dade County;and, WHEREAS,levying the millage of 4.3639 000 which represents a 0 1.46 %incroaso decrease from the City's current rate and approximately 8.46%6.87%increase over the rolled- back rate of 4.0235,for the fiscal year 2015-2016;and WHEREAS,pursuant to the above-cited statutory provision,the Mayor and City Commission are required to adopt a tentative and thereafter afinal millage rate for the taxing jurisdiction of the City of South Miami. NOW,THEREFORE,BEIT ORDAINED BYTHE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OFTHE CITYOF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA THAT: Section 1.There shall be and hereby is levied upon real property in the City of South Miami,Florida,a tax of 4.3639 000 millson the dollar for the fiscal year 2015/2016 for the operational expenses of the government of the Cityfor the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2015,and ending September 30,2016.This results ina0%incroaso 1.46%decrease from the City's FY 2014-15 property tax rate but an increase of 8r4§6.87%or 0.3404 0.2765 mills over the rollback rate of 4.0235 whichis statutorily characterized asan increase in property tax. Section 2.Severability.If any section,clause,sentence,or phrase of this ordinance isforany reason heldinvalidor unconstitutional bya court of competent jurisdiction,this holdingshall not affect the validityof the remaining portions of this ordinance. Section 3.Ordinances in Conflict.All ordinances or parts of ordinances andall section and parts of sections of ordinances in direct conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
