RESOLUTION NO.166-15-14505 AResolutionwaivingcertain special eventfees,and authorizing the City Manager topermit Chamber South to hold its 44th Annual South Miami Art Festival on November 7 and 8,2015 in South Miami. WHEREAS,Chamber South has submitted a Special Event Application to hold its 44th Annual Arts Festival on November 7and8,2015 on Sunset Drive (72nd Street)from US1 to Red Road (57 Avenue);and WHEREAS,for43years Chamber South has held its Art Festival inthe City of South Miami;and WHEREAS,the applicant has paid $500 deposit,$100 administrative fee,$60 application fee,and $600 street andpolebannerfee,totaling$1,260;and WHEREAS,Chamber South is requesting a waiver for thecostof66 parking meters in the amount of $3,300 ($25.00 feepermeterX66total parking metersX2 days);and WHEREAS,the applicant is also requesting a waiver for thestreet closure fee in the amount of $325.00;and WHEREAS,the applicant will pay forthe following services:Police ($9,380),Public Works ($5,937.10),totaling $15,317.10;full payment is anticipated to be made tothe City by September 2016;and WHEREAS,Chamber South has requested an extension onthe payment ofthese services to allow time to receive grant funding for this event,which typically takes approximately eight (8)months from the date of the event;and NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1.The City Manager is hereby authorized to permit Chamber South to hold the 44th Annual SouthMiamiArtFestivalonNovember7and8,2015,in downtown SouthMiamionSunset Drive from US1 to Red Road. Section 2.The City Manager is hereby authorized to allow payment onthe final billing in the approximate amount of $9,380 for Police services and $5,937.10 for Public Works,totaling $15,317.10. According to Chamber South,full payment is anticipated tobe made tothe City by July 2016. Section 3.The City Manager is hereby authorized to waive the parking fees in theamountof $3,300 andstreet closure feeintheamountof $325,totaling $3,625. Section 4.If any section clause,sentence,or phrase ofthis resolution isforany reason held invalid or unconstitutional byacourtofcompetent jurisdiction,the holding shall notaffectthe validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
