AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,
REQUIRING ALL POLITICAL SIGNS LOCATED IN THE CITY
OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,TO BE REMOVED WITHIN
THIRTY (30)DAYS AFTER AN ELECTION IF THE PERSON IS
NO LONGER A CANDIDATEā¢FOR ANY POLITICAL OFFICE;
PROVIDING PENALTY AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 1.8 OF
'THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,
FLORIDA;REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE
WITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BEIT ORDAINED BYTHE MAYOR ANDTHECITY COMMISSION OFTHE
CITY OFSOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA:
Section 1.It is required that all political signs located
in the City of South Miami,Florida,be removed within thirty (30)days after an
election if the person is no longer a candidate for any political office.
Section 2.Failure to comply will result in penalty as
set forth in Section 1.8,GENERAL PENALTY;CONTINUING VIOLATIONS,of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of South Miami,Florida,to-wit:
1.8 Whenever in the Code or in any ordinance of the City
any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be
unlawful oran offense,or whenever insuchcodeor
ordinance the doing of anyact is required or the
.failure to do anyact is declared to be unlawful,
where no specific penalty is provided,therefor,
the violation of any such provision of this code or
any ordinance shall be punished by a fine not
exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00)or
imprisonment for a term not exceeding six (6)months,
orby both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the court.Each day any violation of
any provision of this Code orof any ordinance shall
continue,shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 3.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be,and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4.This ordinance shall take effect immediately at
the time of its passage.
