IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE EXISTING EQUIPMENT AS
REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH THE NEW WORK AS SHOWN OR REASONABLY IMPLIED. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO THE NEW ARCHITECTURAL PLUMBING. FIRE PROTECTION.
MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL WORK SHOWN ON THE OTHER DRAWINGS OF THIS SET TO
DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF DEMOLITION REQUIRED.
WHEN REMOVING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS ALL PRECAUTIONS SHALL BE TAKEN
TO PREVENT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE
INSTALLATION OF ANY STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS REQUIRED. TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXERCISE CARE SO THAT ONLY THAT CONSTRUCTION INDICATED OR
REASONABLY IMPLIED TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE DEMOLISHED. THE EXISTING
CONSTRUCTION TO REMAIN SHALL BE LEFT INTACT AND UNDAMAGED. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL PROTECT ALL ADJACENT SURFACES AND MATERIALS AS REQUIRED TO PREVENT
DAMAGE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS GENERATED FROM WORK ON ALL FLOORS. TAKING CARE TO PREVENT
EXCESSIVE LOADING OF FLOOR ASSEMBLIES.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN CONTINUITY OF CIRCUITS WHERE EXISTING EQUIPMENT IS
TO BE REMOVED AND DOWN STREAM DEVICES MAY BE EFFECTED.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL POWER INTERRUPTIONS WITH OWNER. SEE
SPECIFICATIONS.
WHEN EXISTING ELEMENTS OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS ARE REMOVED ALL
REMAINING OPENINGS IN THE SLAB AND WALLS SHALL BE FILLED IN BY THE CONTRACTOR.
REMOVE ALL MISCELLANEOUS FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT RETAINING ITEMS TO BE IDENTIFIED
FOR SALVAGE AND STORAGE AT THE DIRECTION OF THE OWNER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS DURING DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY AND OPERATION OF EXISTING LIFE SAFETY AND
EMERGENCY EGRESS EQUIPMENT.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS DURING DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION TO MAINTAIN ACCESS TO ALL MEANS OF EGRESS CORRIDORS, DOORWAYS AND
STAIRS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS DURING DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION TO PERMIT EFFECTED AREAS TO CONTINUE TO FUNCTION TO THE GREATEST
EXTENT POSSIBLE. THIS EFFORT SHALL INCLUDE SCHEDULED COORDINATION WITH OWNER OF
ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWNS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL FLUORESCENT AND HID
TYPE LAMPS AND PROPER DISPOSAL OF SAID LAMPS AND SHALL PROVIDE VERIFICATION
OF LAMP DISPOSAL TO THE OWNER UPON REQUEST.
REMOVE ALL LIGHTING FIXTURES RECEPTACLES AND DEVICES IN THE AREA OF DEMOLITION
AND PULL ALL CIRCUITS BACK TO NEXT ACTIVE DEVICE OR SOURCE OF POWER
PROVIDE PANEL SCHEDULES TO THE ENGINEER INDICATING THE CIRCUITS MADE SPARE BY DEMOLITION
AND THE EXISTING CIRCUITS THAT REMAIN ACTIVE.
IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (CM), GENERAL CONTRACTOR (GC),
AND THE SUB- CONTRACTORS (SC) TO STUDY ALL THE DRAWINGS AND DETAILS SO THAT THE
INSTALLATION OF ALL NEW WORK CAN BE FULLY COORDINATED. THE CM, GC, AND SC SHALL VISIT THE
SITE, INCLUDING DOING AN ABOVE CEILING INSPECTION, DURING BIDDING TO SATISFY HIM /HER SELF
THAT ALL PROVISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE FOR ALL ASPECTS OF THIS PROJECT. IF DISCREPANCIES EXIST
BETWEEN DRAWINGS AND /OR SITE CONDITIONS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR IN WRITING PRIOR TO BID DUE DATE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AS A
BASIS FOR ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION TO CORRECT A DIFFICULTY OF DIFFERENCE FROM CONDITIONS
INFERRED OR INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.
DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC AND DO NOT INDICATE ALL DEVICES TO BE DEMOLISHED. CONTRACTOR
SHALL VISIT JOB SITE PRIOR TO BID TO FIELD CONFIRM ALL REQUIREMENTS.
LIMIT OF DEMOLITION
DISCONNECT AND REMOVE ALL EXISTING ELECTRICAL FIXTURES, POWER AND SYSTEMS DEVICES, FCU'S
POWER CONNECTIONS, ETC. AND HERE OR ON OTHER DRAWINGS. REFER TO ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION
SECTION 16010 FOR OTHER REQUIREMENTS. ALL EXISTING RACEWAYS PASSING THROUGH THIS AREA
FEEDING OTHER AREAS CONNECTIONS TO ALL EXISTING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN THESE AREAS UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED SHALL REMAIN INTACT AND OPERATIONAL. PROVIDE SUPPORTS FOR ALL EXISTING
RACEWAYS IF THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY SUPPORTED. ALL OTHER RACEWAYS SHALL BE REMOVED.
