Res No 114-15-14453RESOLUTION NO.:114-15-14453 A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with BM General Repairs LLC for the installation of a new roof at the Public Works office building. WHEREAS,the existing roof is experiencing damage due to numerous leaks;and WHEREAS,the useful lifeof the roof has been exceeded and is deteriorating daily;and WHEREAS,the roof leaks have also caused interior damage due to water intrusion;and WHEREAS,The City obtained 3 quotes for the roof repair at the Public Works Office Building;and WHEREAS,It was determined that BM General Repairs LLC submitted abidin the amount of $11,800 that was the most responsive and cost effective;and WHEREAS,the City desires to provide a10%contingency over the proposal amount of $11,800 for unknown factors that mayarise during the workinan amount notto exceed $13,000;and WHEREAS,the expenditure be charged to departmental Capital Improvements account number 301.1790.519.6450. NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDTHE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OFTHECITYOF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1.TheCity Manager is authorized negotiate and execute a contract withBM General Repairs LLC,for the installation ofa new roof atPublicWorksofficebuilding,foran amount not to exceed $11,800 and the Manager is authorized to expend an additional $1,200 forany unforeseen conditions and circumstances,all of which is to be charged to account number 301.1790.519.6450 with a current balance of $212,794. Section 2.Severability.If any section,clause,sentence,or phrase of this resolution isforany reason heldinvalidor unconstitutional bya court of competent jurisdiction,this holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
