No. 123-99-10747Resolution No.123-99-10747 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MAIMI,FLORIDA,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISBURSE THE SUM OF $3,500.00 TO PARADISE SOUNDS ENTERTAINMENT,FOR SOUND,LIGHT,AND CANOPY ROOF COVERING,FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION EVENT AT PALMER PARK,AND CHARGING THE DISBURSEMENT TO ACCOUNT NUMBER 219-7500,"FOURTH OF JULY ESCROW ACCOUNT'. WHEREAS,Article in,Section5,H,of theCity Charter,requiresbidsbeobtained forpurchases of items over $1,000.00;and WHEREAS,TheCity of SouthMiamisponsorstheFourth of Julyevent;and WHEREAS,Thisyear'seventwillhavefive(3)majorbandsandotherlocal entertainers/acts;and WHEREAS,The City Administration obtained three bids and recommends Paradise SoundsEntertainmenttoprovidethesoundandlightingserviceforthisevent; and WHEREAS,The following vendors turned in bids totheParks&Recreation Department: Mario Ryes $6,350.00 Paradise Sounds Entertainment $3,500.00 Beachsound Incorporation $3,410.00 WHEREAS,Paradise SoundsEntertainmentInc.,isnotthelowestbidderbut will provide a higher caliber of sound equipment,producing a larger sound system and better audio;and WrHEREAS,Paradise Sounds Entertainment is providing a canopy roof,which will increase the support of the lighting equipment,enhance the appearance of the stage area,andsheltertheperformersfrom inclement weather. The attached resolution seeks approval to release funds from account number 219-7500,"Fourth of July Escrow Account",for $3,500.00 from the Parks & Recreation Department's account to Paradise Sounds Entertainment.This disbursement would pay for sound,lighting,andacanopyroof installed bythe company,to provide adequate lighting and shelter from inclement weather forall the participating groups.
