WHEREAS,Article III,Section 5,H,of the City Charter,requires bids be obtainedforpurchases of itemsover$1,000.00;and WHEREAS,Each year the Parks &Recreation Department has a Cheerleading ProgramforthechildrenintheCity of SouthMiami;and WHEREAS,Expenditures are budgeted on a yearly basis,approved by the City Manager and City Commission;and WHEREAS,Cheerleader &Danz Team Supply Inc.,has provided good quality merchandiseandprompt delivery;and WHEREAS,Other Athletic stores would utilize Cheerleading &Danz Team Supply Inc.,to purchase the merchandise andthenwouldsellittotheParks&Recreation Departmentwithapossiblepriceincrease;and WHEREAS,Cheerleader&DanzTeam Supply Inc.,isasolesourceand currently has the colors which are being utilized by the Parks &Recreation Cheerleading Program. NOW THEREFORE BEIT RESOLVED BYTHE MAYOR ANDCITY COMMISSION OFTHECITYOFSOUTHMIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1.Thatapurchaseorderbeawardedto Cheerleader &DanzTeam Supply Inc.,forthe amount of $1,536.75 for cheerleading uniforms.Disbursement of funds will be released from account number 2000-5631,"Cheerleading". The Parks &Recreation Department has a budgeted amount which is approved by the City Commission to disburse funds to purchase uniforms for this program. During the past four (4)years,Cheerleading &Danz Team Supply Inc has provided our cheerleading uniforms.Cheerleading &Danz Team Supply Inc is the sole source as a distributor.Other athletic stores such as Kings Bay alonq with T-shirt Plus have stated that they could order these uniforms except that the order is place through the company of Cheerleading &Danz Team Supply,Inc. To eliminate the middleman,we would purchase the items ourselves from Cheerleader &Danz Team Supply Inc.This company not only carries uniforms with special type of material,but also has the colors,which are currently beinq used by the Parks &Recreation Cheerleading Program.The Parks &Recreation Department is very pleased with this company by the type of product which thev supply and the promptness of their delivery.
