No. 100-99-10724RESOLUTION NO.100-99-10724 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,RELATING TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD;APPOINTING PAM LAHIFF AND JAMES DEEN TO SERVE FOR A TWO YEAR TERM ENDING MAY 18,2001 OR UNTIL SUCCESSORS ARE DULY APPOINTED AND QUALIFIED;PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,The Mayor andCity Commission recognize the important contributionsmadebythosewhoserveonthevariouscityboardsandcommittees, and wish to appoint afull complement to each of the active boards and committees;and WHEREAS,the Mayor andCity Commission desires to appoint Pam Lahiff an James Deen toserveonthe Historic Preservation Board until May 18, 2001 of until successors are duly appointed and qualified. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA; Section 1.TheCity Commission hereby appoints Pam Lahiff andJames Deen to serve on the Historic Preservation Board. Section 2.The expiration date of those appointments shallexpireMay 18,2001 or until successors areduly appointed and qualified. Section 3.This resolution shalltake effect immediately upon approval. BACKGROUND The Historic Preservation Board was established by Ordinance No.18-95-1591 with the purpose of preserving and protecting districts,structures,or sites having historic or archaeological worth. ANALYSIS The Composition of the Historic Preservation Board was amended to increase the membership to seven (7).At present there are 5 members actively serving on this Board.With the two appointments being made this Board would have a full complement CONCLUSION Given the fact that this isa very active Board the Commission desires to appoint afull complement.
