Over the course of time,ducts accumulate dust,dust mites,outdoor material such as pollen,and other undesirable particles and bacteria.The presence of this material within a building's ventilation system is detrimental to the air quality.Therefore,it should not be left to accumulate.The time has come to perform an intensive cleaning routine ofthe ducts inCityHall,the Police Station,andthe Public Works offices. Public Works has obtained price quotes from firms specializing in ventilation system maintenance.The original bid request was for City Hall and the Police Station only. AmeriKlean Inc.was the low bidder,their quote being over $4,000 lower than the next lowest quote.A price quote to include the ducts inthe Public Works administrative offices (last cleaned in 1996)was then requested from AmeriKlean.This resulted ina quote of $8,772.00,still lower than the next quote by roughly $3,300.00.
