No. 24-97-1645ORDINANCE NO.24-97-1645 A ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,RELATING TO COMPENSATION FOR COMMISSIONERS AND MAYOR;AMENDING ARTICLE 1, SECTION 2-3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES;PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,Section 2-3 of the City's Code of Ordinances titled "Compensation for commissioners and mayor-Established"provides for monthly compensation of services by mayor and commissioners. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1;Section 2-3 of the Code of Ordinances entitled "Compensation for Commissioners and Mayor-Established is hereby amended as follows: There shall be paid to the mayor and to each commissioner of the city such sums as are approved by the annual budget the sum of twelve hundred dollars—($1,200)per year,—payable monthly as compensation for services and as allowable expenses.as- Commissioner. There—shall—be paid to the mayor—&€—fehe—city—the—sum of twelve—hundred—dollars—($1,200)—pea?—year,—payable—monthly—as compensation for hi3 or her services to the city. There—shall—also—fee—paid—fey—the—city—fee—the—mayor—and commissioners,an additional sum to cover any and all expenses of the office of mayor and commissioners,supported only by expense vouchers—properly—explained,—signed—and—certified—when—under twenty five—dollars—($25.00).Others—shall—fee—supported—by proper vendor receipts.Cuch additional—sums—shall—be payable monthly.5he—amounts—payable—§er—expenses—3hall—net—exceed the amount appropriated for such purpose as established in the city budget. Section 2.If any section,clause,sentence,or phrase of this ordinance isforany reason held invalid or unconstitutional bya court of competent jurisdiction,the holding shall not affect the validity of this remaining portions of this ordinance. Section 3.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
